Paramount Speed shift gearbox, remapped ECU and uprated supercharger 400bhp. The XK8 was launched in 1996 and was the first generation of a new XK series available in both coupe and convertible body styles and with the new 4.0 litre Jaguar AJV8 engine. The 1998 XKR was introduced with a supercharged version of the engine. Jeremy Clarkson, during a Top Gear testdrive, likened the interior of the original XK8 to sitting inside Blenheim Palace. These modifications completed transformed the car into a serious super GT producing 400bhp with far sharper handling and more aggressive looks. This example was previously owned by both the supplying dealer and the owner of Paramount Performance and boasts a comprehensive service history. The history file contains the stamped maintenance book, older invoices from Racing Green including replacement timing chain, guides and replacement gearbox. In more recent years, the fuel pump has been replaced, ABS pump rebuilt and serviced and a new alternator has been fitted.
