EdinburghInsurance Group 15, The SEAT Leon has always been an appealingly sporty alternative to a Volkswagen Golf. It may have the same highquality underpinnings, and share the same engines, but the Leon simply looks that bit racier, that bit faster against the clock. It has the everyday pizzazz lacking in a Golf and, over the years, has earned itself a loyal following as a result. Indeed, ownership satisfaction surveys show Leon drivers to be a very happy bunch particularly those who own the sharpsuited 20132020 car. This was the best Leon ever at launch, a real step on from its predecessor in terms of refinement, sophistication and overall quality. Buyers even had the option of LED headlights a world first in the family hatchback sector. The Leon was offered as a core fivedoor hatch, or a sportier threedoor called Leon SC. There was also an estate, called Leon ST. All Leon of this era are well equipped, with standard air con, touchscreen infotainment, Bluetooth and electric door mirrors. The engines are good, too: 1.6 and 2.0 TDI diesels sold well but the petrols are equally strong, with the 1.4 TSI and later 1.5 TSI proving great allrounders. Then theres the more focused driving dynamics of the Leon, which is crisper and more engaging, without going over the top (unless you choose the highperformance Cupra, that is…).The SEAT Leon delivers a solid amount of outright practicality thanks to a spacious cabin and reasonable luggage capacity. Drivers of all sizes shouldnt have any problems getting into the front seats (although some may find the higher Arona or Ateca easier to climb into), plus storage space is ample. Note that all models apart from the entrylevel SE benefit from an electronic handbrake instead of the older lever design, one of the benefits being an extra storage space between the driver and passenger.Despite its spacious interior, the Leon isnt much larger than its main rivals. In fact, its shorter than the Ford Focus and Hyundai i30 (and a little bit narrower than the latter), meaning garages designed for average sized cars shouldnt have any trouble accommodating the Leon. If things do get supertight however, electrically folding mirrors are fitted as standard on FR models upwards. The thick Cpillars (behind the rear doors) could hamper visibility when reversing, so wed recommend speccing the SE Dynamic trim or upwards in order to get the standardfit front and rear parking sen.12 Volt Power Supply in Centre Console, 17in Alloy Wheels Dynamic, 3.5in Drivers Display, ABS AntiLock Braking System and TCS Traction Control System with Deactivation, Active Front Head Restraints, Additional HeatingVentilation Outlet in Rear Centre Console, Air Conditioning, Alarm Perimeter and Interior Monitoring with Backup Horn and TowAway Protection, Ambient Spot Lighting and Footwell Illumination, AntiTheft Roof Antenna, Appearance Pack inc 17in Dynamic Alloy Wheels, Automatic Warning Lights, Bluetooth Phone Connection, BodyColoured Door Handles, BodyColoured Door Mirrors with Integrated LED Indicators, Cargo Rings in the Boot, Child Locks on Rear Doors, Chrome Interior Dashboard Detailing, Chrome Interior Decorative Mouldings, Comfort Suspension, Cruise Control, Cupholders Front Centre Console x2, Dark Tinted Rear Windows, Driver and Front Passenger Airbags, Driver and Passenger Sunvisor with Covered and Illuminated Mirrors, Drivers Knee Airbag, Drivers Seat Lumbar Adjustment, Dust and Pollen Filter, Electric Windows Front with OneTouch and AntiSqueeze, Electric Windows Rear with One Touch and AntiSqueeze, Electrically Adjustable and Heated Door Mirrors, ElectroMechanical Power Steering SpeedSensitive, Electronic Differential Lock System XDS, Electronic Engine Immobiliser, Emergency Tyre Repair Kit, ESC Electronic Stability Control with EBA Emergency Brake Assist, Front Armrest Height and Reach Adjustable with Storage Compartment, Front Assist, Front Comfort Seats, Front Courtesy Light with Front and Rear Reading Lights, Front Fog Lights with Cornering Function, Front Grille Frame Chrome, Front Passenger Airbag DeActivation, Front Seat Back Storage Pockets, Front Side Airbags, Fuel Filler Flap linked to Central Locking, Full LED Headlights, Gearshift Indicator, Gloss Black Pillars, Head Restraints Height Adjustable Front, Head Restraints Height Adjustable Rear x3, Headlights Automatic Range Adjustment, Headlights Coming Home Function, Height Adjustable Passenger Seat, Height and Reach Adjustable Steering Wheel, HeightAdjustable Drivers Seat, Hill Hold Control, Illuminated Boot, Instrument Lighting with Brightness Control, ISOFIX Points in Outer Rear Seats with Top Tether Anchorage Points, Leather Handbrake, Leather Steering Wheel and Gear Knob, Lights Left On Warning Buzzer, Locking Wheel Bolts, Low Fuel Warning Light, Media System Plus, MultiCollision Braking System, Navigation System, Outside
