2 Previous Owners, This lot will be auctioned via Historics Classic and Sportscar Auctioneers at The Brooklands Velocity; Mercedes-Benz World sale on Saturday 29th November. Original UK supplied right hand drive exampleDesirable colour combinationSold new via HR OwenOne consequence of the E-Types long process of development had been a gradual increase in weight, but a good measure of the concomitant loss of performance was restored in 1971 with the arrival of the sensational Series III V12. Built in two seat roadster and 2+2 coupe versions, both of which used the long wheelbase floor pan introduced on the Series II 2+2, the Series III E-Type continued the Jaguar tradition of offering a level of performance and luxury unrivalled at the price.Chassis number 1S1016 is believed to be the 16th Series III to come off the production line. Built on the 23rd of August 1971 it was sold to its first owner via HR Owen in September of the same year. An original UK supplied, right hand drive example, this Jaguar was originally specified with a four-speed manual gearbox, Regency Red coachwork and a black leather interior which it still retains today. The general condition of this E-Type is good with the coachwork retaining a deep shine, although it is showing some minor signs of age, as too the interior which shows a light patina, in keeping with a car of its age and also features a modern Blaupunkt Dreden head unit. Offered with a history file including the maintenance and lubrication charts, the operating, maintenance, and service handbook, a couple of old photos, its current UK registration document and its current Mot test certificate which is valid until 5th October 2026.
