Jaguar E-Type FHC

A rare opportunity to acquire a time warp E-Type. This Left Hand Drive car was delivered to the USA in 1963 and is finished in Primrose Yellow over Black interior.The car is believed to have sat in dry storage in California for around 15 years prior to being imported into the UK. We will spare you the usual ran when parked spiel - frankly, all we can really comment on is the cars current condition and what our vendor was told by the dealer they bought it from in California a few years ago.It is been remarkably well preserved and as such there is, in the grand scheme of things, very little rust. The paint could very well be the original, with the chalk body number marks still visible in places and there's even some service history that has been hand etched in period into one of the under bonnet panels.We have had the matching numbers engine turning by hand, but admittedly not very freely.The car will at the minimum require an overhaul of the engine, brakes and fuel system plus some fresh tyres (though these fitted hold air fine, they are old).The car is largely complete, we have removed some bits (as photographed) like the airbox etc. The interior is actually in relatively good condition though the steering wheel wood trim from the rim and the radio console are missing.There is a link to a lot more images, a walk-around video, photos of the bad bits etc. on our website.This would be the ideal candidate for a DIY mechanical rolling restoration or a good base for a full restoration or even a race car project.The car has not been UK registered and will need to be registered by the buyer - we can recommend a third party agent who can help with the registration paperwork though it is all pretty simple to do yourself.The car is available to view by appointment at our West London showroom.
