Jaguar E-Type 2020

1 Previous Owner, 1962 Jaguar E-Type 3.8 series 1, presented in metallic Opalescent Golden Sand over Light Tan interior. This simply outstanding example received a full 'nut and bolt' restoration overseen by Smallman Hall Classic Cars following their purchase of the car from California in 2014. Noted specialists have been used at every stage to ensure a finished car that is built to a high standard and is as reliable as possible. All components have either been restored or where appropriate, replaced with new old stock and where possible period dated. The only non-standard items are uprated torsion bars and uprated brakes to improve stopping distance. New parts include radiator, header tank, fuel tank and pump, brake discs and splines, chrome wire wheels and period Pirelli Cinturato tyres. Following import to the UK, the car was stripped and the shell sent away to be taken back to bare metal and subjected to a detailed restoration by Rod Jay of R J Panels, Bedworth, near Coventry. The work included fitting a new bonnet, engine frames, bonnet hanging frame and bulkheads, and all panels backwards from there including doors and bootlid. Once restored, the shell was subjected to a bare metal respray at Brookfield Classics, one of the leading Jaguar E-Type specialists. The car has been restored to original specification, including paint and trim colours. The leather and interior trim, including hood, was completed by GB Classics Trim, who are noted for their trim work on high-end classic cars, and who have in the past re-trimmed the Jaguar factory museum cars. In all, some 650 hours were invested in the assembly of this E-Type, with a further 300 hours on metal works and 350 hours on paint and trimming. It is is supplied with the original body tab and chassis plate, together with Jaguar Heritage certificate and restoration evidence. Having covered an indicated 1100 miles since restoration, the car still presents in fantastic condition throughout. It is ready to be used and enjoyed.
