Unit 7A, Tinwell Business Park Steadfold Lane Stamford PE9 3UN
Stamford
Comprehensively restored in 2015, featured on the cover of Volksworld magazine and converted to electric carried out by the Electric Classic Cars. This must be the coolest, most useable classic we&039;ve ever seen! During the restoration a pre &039;68 front clip, bonnet, wings and decklid were fitted to &039;back date&039; the car. Further touches include US spec &039;towel rail&039; bumpers, original 60&039;s swan neck mirrors and a refurbished original 60&039;s roof rack. The interior is mainly original bar the addition of a classic looking DAB radio, and is in lovely condition with classic black basket weave seats, Bambus parcel shelf, EMPI trigger shifter, grey carpets and Red Wolfsburg horn push. It has a lowered, narrow front beam and fitted with a front disc conversion. The underside is in excellent order thanks to being undersealed during the restoration While retaining its unmistakable period charm, this Beetle benefits from a professional electric conversion carried out by &039;Electric Classic Cars&039; arguably the most trusted household name for classic conversions. It is fitted with a Hyper9 electric motor producing 120bhp, paired with the original 4-speed manual gearbox. This ensures the car keeps the character and involvement often lost with single-speed automatic conversions. It is fantastic to drive, thanks to an uprated anti-roll bar bar and adjustable GAZ shocks front and rear. My first car was a 1970 Beetle, and I&039;ve had many classic VW&039;s ever since and I can say that bar the unmistakable throb of the original flat 4 engine, I can&039;t find any negatives! It has 6.6 Kw charging with the charger port being neatly hidden behind the rear number plate. Power comes from a 25kWh battery pack split between front and rear compartments for improved balance and weight distribution, while still maintaining practical luggage space under the hood. The result is a range of approximately 90 miles on a full charge, and a full charge should take less than 5 hours. Further thoughtful upgrades include rear seat belts, making the car more usable for family outings, while the rest of the car remains true to original specification. Even the fuel gauge has been repurposed to display the state of battery charge, blending modern technology with classic design. Importantly, the conversion has been fully recorded with the DVLA and the registration document updated accordingly..
