BMW Z3 1997 - 275 Z Series 2-Door

This lot will be auctioned via Historics Classic and Sportscar Auctioneers at The Pace of Autumn; Ascot Racecourse sale on Saturday 20th September. First registered on 5th August 1997, this 275 Tribute with BMW Z3 engineering is presented in dark metallic Racing Green with cream racing stripe. A manual example of the straight-six 2.8 litre with 250bhp Z3 engineered Z Series spent 12 years as an unassuming roadster. In 2009, the car was damaged but repairable, the insurer decided not to repair the cat C and the then owner chose the car for a donor to produce this 275 Z Series kit car rather than a regular repair. Styled in the fashion of early 60s sportscars, it was fully kitted and converted and now sits on adjustable Coilover shock absorbers. In 2012 VOSA provided an identity check and inspected the car granting it a VIC pass enabling registration as a BMW Tribute 275 on the V5C registration document.The exterior is pure 60's sportscar, the rear much like the iconic racing coupes of the time with styling cues from many other cars from the era. The interior has an abundance of quilted leather complemented by Smiths gauges, classic seats, wooden rimmed steering and classic manual gear shift all while knowingly sitting in the comfort of a modern, fast and reliable BMW Z3 with air conditioning, electric windows, and even a reversing camera. Described as a very entertaining drive that will turn heads wherever you go, with the confidence in modern engineering.
