MOT Failures Involving Lighting: Repeated headlight-related issues on the same side (offside = driver's side in the UK) can suggest previous front-end body damage, such as a minor collision. Tyre and Brake Wear Anomalies: This adds to the case for minor structural misalignment or uneven wear, possibly linked to historical damage. * Never agree to a nonrefundable deposit! Never and ever! I share our final letter sent on their refusal to return the deposit after the AA check with issues: Dear director, By the hereby letter, we confirm that we immediately stop any relations with AQ Car Sales and with you personally because: 1. You were manipulating us with the deposit: after our discussion, you confirmed that we could transfer the deposit; after we transferred the deposit, you offered to issue a receipt and asked me to fill in my data, which, after all, turned out to be not a receipt but a Customer Declaration. 2. Having two different tyres on the same axle with different brands and different tread depths, together with "Front brake discs appear lipped and corroded" represent a serious breach of safety. 3. A car offered for sale, at any agreed-upon price, should be safe. 4. You were aware of the issues mentioned in the report but did not share your awareness with us. Moreover, you disguised the tyres with a polish before our check. 5. We demand to return the deposit because of the above-mentioned reasons. 6. You did not provide a possibility to read the car engine number, which is a duty of the seller. Thus, we do not have reliable information with regard to the identity of the car you offer.
