My daughter bought a cheap car from this garage almost a year ago. As a dad with limited mechanical knowledge I was reluctant for her to buy here as some of the reviews were not great. I was very wrong! The garage has been great, yes they are selling used cars, so expect to buy a used car - with rattles and dinks, but they are cheap. My daughter found that the dealers did everything they agreed to do, and much more and generally couldn't be more helpful. So we recommend these used car dealers as they were excellent for us and I'm sure we'll be back buying from them again in the future.

I have bought 2 cars from Seaview so would like to add to some of the positives. My more recent purchase was a Zafira. A day or so after driving this car it started to crunch in the gears. Phoned Sally who booked it straight back in. After inspection, a new gearbox and clutch kit was ordered and a week later, fitted. I'm a realist. It was a second hand car. Even so, within the warranty period the issues were sorted. I have only found the guys to be helpful and Sally to be pleasant when talking to her either on the phone or in person. It's only my work commitments preventing me from having an oil leak checked but again, it's second hand and these things happen. Will I go back? Yes

Do not buy from Seaview Motors , I lost \xa32400 in 2 months because of them. I bought a car from them and within days the engine management light came on. I took it back and they said it was just sensors so it was fine. They changed the sensors and the light came back on again. This continued to happen 3-4 times so I took it to a different garage for a second opinion. That garage told me that the chain within the engine was ruined and that Seaview Motors would have known this from the diagnostic machine if not from when they purchased the vehicle. I took it back to Seaview and they told me this was untrue. I quote ‘if it’s not on the machine how do you expect me to fix it.’ I told him that another garage told me that was not true and he immediately got defensive and they tried to charge me more money for new sensors saying that the issue was something I had caused after only a few weeks of having the car to drive to and from work (10 minutes away). Knowing I was getting nowhere and having enough of leaving my car with them and paying for 2 taxis everyday, I cut my losses and got the car part exchanged. When the 3rd garage did a diagnostic on the car, they told me they could give me no more than \xa3500 because the diagnostic machine showed there was an issue with the chain inside the engine… clearly it could be seen on a diagnostic machine after all because I never told them about the engine issue. Please do not buy from here.

I am saddened to write this review, when I took my car in prior to Christmas to have the clutch replaced I was greeted by an incredibly friendly front of house and was filled with confidence and had planned to recommend the garage. 24.01.24 I took my car to my usual garage for an MOT and it turned out the new engine plate fitted in addition to the clutch by Seaview had not been secured and was unsafe to drive. I contacted Seaview, to receive no apology and an offer to relook at the car for me. I was not comfortable to do this as I had no trust in the workmanship and explained this. I provided the garage the cost of repair and proof of this a total of \xa372. They then ghosted me. 23.03.24 my gearbox fell down and the car is now not safe to drive and is off the road, on inspection it turns out Seaview had also failed to secure the gearbox mount and this has come loose since the clutch repair. I am now without a car. I contacted Seaview to find a solution they tried to blame the other garage saying that loose gearbox screws should have been picked up by them as part of the MOT, knowing that this would not be something that would have been looked at. I am gutted not only have I been driving my family around in an unsafe car, I am out of pocket and the garage have not offered a solution other than to take it back to them and who would feel comfortable to do this. It is sad that they are not prepared to offer a fair and reasonable solution to the issue.

Terrible buying experience, I purchased my Suzuki Vitara last year from this so called Garage. Off the bat I had a severe screeching issue which turned out to be very worn belts which snapped while I was driving and caused the alternator to break. I phoned up to get this fixed which was eventually agreed to by the garage, I drove the car to within 200m of the garage before it stoped working completely (due to the battery not charging) I explained this too the garage owner and asked him to help tow me the last 200m, to which I got a large amount of abuse and anger. Eventually the happy gentleman did come out to assist me and I left the car at the garage. This incident happened within the 1 month warranty, which stated that any issues with the engine would be fixed by themselves within the first month of purchase free of charge, however this was not the case, I did end up paying for the new alternator and labour. Quite frankly I was thrilled to have the car back so did not challenge this further. It is now around 11 months later and I have come to sell the car to a local garage, however on seeing the sea view MOT sticker on the vehicle he declined to take the car. The garage owner then went on to show me what he called “typical” shoddy welding and quick fixes around my car which he described as dangerous and unfortunately standard with this company. On looking back at the MOT history I saw the previous MOT had a large amount of issues which it failed on, however it was given a very speedy next day MOT before I picked up the vehicular and all those issues seemed to disappear. Both myself and the people who did the most recent MOT found this to be suspicious and unlikely that all the current issues the car has are not ones that were “overlooked” by the sea view garage staff. I would consider looking elsewhere for your vehicles if you want your car to last.

Bought a car from here that they put a MOT on. Had problems after problems after buying it that they said there wasn’t a problem. Got a mechanic to look and write a report with multiple things that should have been either completed on the mot or advisory’s. I have voicemails saved of them confirming the car is “safe” and “nothing wrong with it”. AVOID!

Sold my mother a complete pile of junk claiming stuff like the inside was wet because their steam cleaner had broken and other rubbish, only to find out it leaks constantly along with many other issues. Didn’t even last her a year, failed horrifically on its next mot with all the same issues as before their “mot”. Obviously they do just enough to pass it then sell it on like it’s got no problems. Complete con artists, liars and their cars are dangerous.

Bought a car that they put an MOT on but didn't put the exhaust being welded together on the advisory as it was on previous MOT'S as I looked up the history. Hence why my exhaust went 5 months after buying the vehicle. My mechanic was shocked at the welding! I should have been told about the exhaust so not happy that I had to spend out alot of money on a new exhaust so soon after buying it. So wouldn't recommend
