Hybrid SUVs are some of the most popular vehicles on our roads.
With their practical interiors and low running costs, what’s not to like?
The second-hand market is flooded with great options, and the cars we’ve picked out are all available on Cazoo’s website, which all represent excellent value for money.
There are also several models that offer plug-in hybrid powertrains, which come with small battery packs that allow you to drive certain distances on electric power alone.
But which ones are the most practical? Do they save you money? Are they good to drive?
We’ve compiled a list of the best used hybrid SUVs that you can buy through Cazoo today.
Cupra Formentor
Cupra is the sporty sub-brand of the Spanish firm, Seat.
The Formentor is one of the best offerings it makes and was the first bespoke model to come from the brand.
Its exterior styling is sharp and sporty with lots of copper accents, giving it a classy appeal. There is plenty of space inside for occupants and the boot space measures at 345 litres if you go for the plug-in hybrid version.
Talking of its powertrain, the plug-in hybrid version comes fitted with a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine, mated to an electric motor and 13kWh battery pack, which the manufacturer claims the car can travel up to 36 miles on electric power.
Second-hand prices for a Formentor PHEV start from around £18,000 for a three-year-old example with 30,000 miles on the clock.

Dacia Duster
If your key focus is value for money, then look no further than the Dacia Duster.
The Duster is one of the cheapest SUVs you can buy with a hybrid powertrain.
It comes fitted with a 1.6-litre petrol engine mated to an electric motor that returns impressive fuel economy of a claimed 56.5mpg.
It’s also rather practical inside, with the boxy design giving plenty of headroom for occupants, and there is a sufficient amount of standard equipment.
Obviously, the interior quality isn’t the most plush, but everything feels tough and built to cope with harsh family life.
Second-hand examples start from around £24,500 for an example with less than 5,000 miles on the clock.
Hyundai Tucson
Hyundai’s Tucson is one of Britain’s best-selling cars and the latest example is the best iteration yet.
Its bold exterior styling makes it stand out from the crowd, plus there is the option of a sporty N-Line trim too.
There is a choice of hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains, with both versions featuring a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine mated to electric motors, and the latter features a 13.8kWh battery pack which takes it a claimed 38 miles on battery power.
Used hybrid examples start from around £19,000 with 20,000 miles on the clock. However, PHEV models are a little pricier, with a three-year-old car with less than 40,000 miles on the odometer starting in the £20,000 bracket.

Kia Sportage
Underneath its skin, the Kia Sportage is identical to the Hyundai Tucson and just like its Korean cousin, it’s one of Britain’s best-selling cars.
It comes packed full of standard equipment, and there are efficient hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains available.
Both versions come fitted with a 1.6-litre turbocharged unit, mated to an electric motor and the PHEV variant gains an additional 13.8kWh battery pack that gives a claimed electric range of up to 37 miles.
If you’re looking at the second-hand market, used Kia Sportages that are three-years-old and have around 30,000 miles on the clock are priced from £22,000 for a regular hybrid or £25,000 for a PHEV model.
Lexus RX
The Lexus RX is all about comfort, refinement and quality.
Inside, the cabin is full of soft touch materials, while build quality is some of the best on the market.
Under the bonnet, the car uses a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine mated to an electric motor that is extremely quiet around town and can achieve a claimed combined fuel economy figure of 35.7mpg.
If you want a second-hand example, a 2021 car with less than 40,000 miles on the clock can be picked up from around £32,300.

Skoda Kodiaq
Skoda’s Kodiaq is one of the best family SUVs on the market and fitting a plug-in hybrid powertrain makes it even cheaper to run.
The Kodiaq’s interior space is vast with loads of rear seat space for passengers, and there are lots of handy storage compartments dotted about the place with the quality of all the materials feeling very premium.
Under the bonnet, there is a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, mated to an electric motor and 25.7kWh battery, that Skoda claims can take the car up to 62 miles on electric power.
Used prices start from around £33,000 for a car with around 15,000 miles on the clock.
Toyota C-HR
Toyota are the pioneers when it comes to hybrid technology and the C-HR is one of the best petrol-electric SUVs on the market.
With its coupe-esque styling, efficient powertrain and impressive driving dynamics, the C-HR is a tough act to follow in this sector of the market.
Older 2022 cars come fitted with a 1.8-litre petrol engine mated to an electric motor that deliver a claimed combined fuel figure of up to 74.3mpg – making it one of the best-in-class for economy.
If you’re looking for a second-hand example, 2022 models are priced from around £16,000 with 30,000 miles on the clock.
