Van location
LeatherheadFull HPI clear and backed by a substantial history file, this 1988 Mk3 Transit camper has clearly been cared for properly over a long period. The MOT record is unusually strong for an older classic commercialbased camper, with 14 of the last 20 tests passed with no advisories at all, and the advisory items that have appeared over the years having been attended to. We acquired it locally, with the previous owner having kept it within his family from 2002, before passing to our business director, who has since invested heavily in improving and updating the vehicle. The seating has been fully retrimmed, the electrics and fuse board have been redone, a new leisure battery system has been installed, the water pump system has been renewed, lighting has been updated, the cupboards have been refurbished and the fridge has been reconditioned. The audio system alone accounted for over £1,500 of expenditure, and now includes an upgraded 10inch rotatable head unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a reversing camera. It has also been fitted with an electric power steering column with adjustable weight, which makes a noticeable difference to lowspeed manoeuvrability and general ease of use. Water, gas and electrics are all reported to be working as they should, and it comes with a driveway awning. Cosmetically and mechanically, this is also a stronger example than most. The previous owner carried out a full restoration and repaint in 2015, with photographs retained in the history. It also benefits from desirable periodstyle upgrades including a genuine Ford RS front bumper, RS wheels and RS steering wheel, which suit the Mk3 well without looking out of place. Under the bonnet is the 2.0 Pinto petrol engine with manual gearbox. This is not a standard tired unit either. The engine has had significant work and upgrades, including larger cams, cambelt replacement, and a fully reconditioned cylinder head in 2019 with new components throughout. It was then tuned and dyno tested to 112 bhp and 136 ft/lb, giving it a useful improvement over standard output. A properly sorted, welldocumented...
