If I could leave zero stars, I would. We purchased a 2014 vehicle from GL Commercials with assurances and documentation stating everything was in good working order, including a valid MOT. We paid a fair price without dispute, trusting the company’s word. Upon receiving the van on 4th July, we immediately discovered the air conditioning was not working and emitted a gas smell. After a lot of going back & forth, their mechanics were unable to identify/resolve the issue, so we paid \xa3240 out of our own pocket for the inspection due to serious safety concerns. The verdict: the vehicle should never have passed its MOT. Since raising this with GL Commercials, we’ve been met with endless excuses. The sales advisor keeps telling us “the directors are on holiday” — yet here we are on 20th August with no resolution. This experience has been nothing short of unprofessional and unacceptable. The lack of accountability, poor service, and disregard for customers’ safety speaks volumes. We are now reporting them to Trading Standards and the DVSA. Totally unprofessional and unsafe. On the plus side, I’ve had plenty of time to write this detailed review… while still waiting for a call back from their directors who, apparently, have been on holiday for the last six weeks....

On my search for a suitable van I came across GL Commercials who were by far the most helpful Van Dealer I had come across. They were very friendly and not pushy at all. I had searched far and wide and had not found what I was looking for at all. Other Dealers had tried to palm me off with a fast sale whereas Gavin at GL Commercials was prepared to spend time going over the finer details and making sure that I was happy with whatever vehicle I chose. He pointed out any flaws on any vehicle that may had a blemish or whatever and was totally honest about each vehicle I looked at. The test drive was no trouble at all and I ended up buying a great vehicle at a very reasonable price with a full MOT. Overall I was very impressed with the service I received and would recommend this company to anyone. Not only do they have a vast amount of stock but they are very attentive and look after their customers very well.

Further update …. Received an email saying can you call us , finally talked to a male after several attempts who said Maggie would get back to me ……. No such call . I’ve taken some great legal advice! **** UPDATE ……. Starting legal course of action , still no reply as of 22/06/25 Purchased a van in March. Within weeks I had it serviced myself despite purchasing it with a service and MOT . The service I had done picked up multiple faults including break discs worn away , illegal spare tyre , cloudy break fluid , battery failed test plus more - my bill was around \xa31700 !!! The faults were verified by two separate garages. I sent an email prior to carrying out the repairs - no reply. I sent another email- no reply I sent a recorded delivery letter- no reply The warranty they sold us covered a part payment for the battery of \xa390. The rest was seen as “ normal wear and tear “ so not covered. The MOT was passed with not even an advisory, at its most generous the brakes should have had an advisory at its worse it should not have passed. As for it being serviced upon sale it had barely any break fluid ! By rights I should have been able to drive this vehicle away and not worry about it , safe and sound in the knowledge it had just passed an MOT and had been serviced. I’m self employed and had already paid out for the van to be ply , lined etc otherwise I’d have taken it back. I lost days at work taking the vehicle to the garage to be repaired. Due to my receiving no reply from the company despite prove of letters and emails I have sadly decided to leave this review and seek legal assistance to resolve this matter. My advise, take your own mechanic to inspect any vehicle your interested in, I trusted an MOT and service and have been left very much out of pocket.
