My experience at Waylands MG Newbury was a disaster. They sold me a car advertised with FSH, there was no FSH! Checked with MG customer service, they confirmed service history missing. So the seven year warranty was invalid, decreasing the value of the car considerably. On the way home the car had a loud humming sound. I took it to a local garage the next day. They told me the rear right wheel bearings had gone. It supposedly had a 100+ pre-sales check and then a full mot the before I picked it up. I feel totally misled. I contacted Consumer protection to find out my rights. Waylands picked it up and gave me a courtesy car. They done the repairs, but since the car was less than three years old, and had done less than 12000 miles i lost all confidence in the car. I spoke to the manager, Jason Cull. He did not seem to like the fact that I was aware of my rights. He called them demands, I explained that it was what I had been told by Consumer protection. He did not want anything more to do with me, even though I was willing to pay £5000 more for a newer car. Eventually he told me I had to have my car back which I had part exchanged, and a refund, which we did. This caused me a lot of stress, and loss of money due to changes of road tax and car insurance. I would never consider buying a MG ever again and I would certainly not recommend them. As for their dealerships I will totally avoid if this is the standard of service they provide.
