If I could give zero stars, I would — but unfortunately, one star is the lowest option. I own a Mercedes A-Class and have a Mercedes service plan, so I expected a professional and trustworthy experience. Today, I visited Mercedes-Benz of Southend for an MOT, and what followed was nothing short of appalling. I was told they could not carry out the MOT because the vehicle supposedly had insufficient oil and was “dangerous” to drive. Despite giving my permission to proceed regardless, I was then informed they still would not continue unless I agreed to pay £138 for a full oil replacement. Sensing something wasn’t right, I declined and left. Once home, I checked the oil level myself after the engine had cooled — and, unsurprisingly, there was more than enough oil in the car. This leaves me with one conclusion: I was deliberately misled in an attempt to upsell unnecessary work. I find this completely unacceptable and deeply disappointing, especially from a dealership representing such a prestigious brand. This experience has seriously damaged my trust. I would strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with this dealership and if something doesn't ring true then just walk away. A truly poor reflection of what Mercedes-Benz should stand for.
Want to buy a brand new electric SUV Mercedes Benz from Mercedes Benz of Southend. Don’t bother. I tried. But after terrible couldn’t care less service from the sales team I went elsewhere instead. Had to phone repeatedly to even get an appointment to meet sales team - because they don’t return phone calls at all. Then you turn up for your appointment - they leave you for 45 minutes beyond your appointment only to then come and say they are still running late. Then they promise to get in touch again and don’t. Waste of my time. Went elsewhere - spent my £73K and glad it wasn’t from Southend. Shame.
Thourugh care of my car, "misunderstanding" on price of job (resolved after my query). Anticipated wait was 2 hours instead of "about1". The overall experience was what I'd expect from Porsche but updates on the progress of the job wouldhave been appreciated as was the price I was quoted on arrival which was not what I had been given before making the appointment.
