I had a very poor experience with Stellantis & You Peugeot Preston regarding my nearly new Peugeot 208, which was only two months old when it developed an oil leak. The vehicle had to be recovered to the dealership and remained with their workshop for several days while they investigated the issue. I was told there was “no oil leak” and that no fault could be found. Concerned that something was clearly wrong, I took the car to Perrys Peugeot Blackburn for a second opinion. Their technicians immediately identified the problem as a gearbox oil seal failure causing the oil leak — something Stellantis & You Preston completely failed to diagnose despite having the vehicle for days. This was extremely disappointing and has seriously affected my confidence in their aftersales service. I felt dismissed as a customer and was repeatedly reassured there was no issue when there clearly was one. To make matters worse, I have since attempted to contact Stellantis & You Preston to raise a formal complaint and request a response, but so far I have received no reply whatsoever. For a main Peugeot dealership, I expected a far higher level of professionalism, technical competence, and customer care.
I brought the car in for its MOT; I had an 11:45 appointment and I arrived on time. I told them I had a work call and had to be done by 1:30. They said, "no problem". At 1:15 I asked what the status was, and someone said, "it's finished, just waiting for a wash". Nothing happened. At 2:15 I was told it was still waiting for a wash. i declined the wash and got my car back at 2:30. Horrible service, no explanation to the customer, very frustrating. I've been coming here since 2021, and it was always polite and on time; they have slipped.
Bought a Vauxhall Combo from them, and was misinformed about the car. The salesman told me the car would have front sensors (wrong), heated seats (wrong) and didn't inform me that a subscription would be required to pre-climatise the car through the app. I pursued a peace agreement to just install legitimate Vauxhall sensors (a cost of £2200), and to look past everything else. Instead, they offered cheap £350 sensors. Not impressed.
I went to take my car for its service at the Stellantis & You Romford Essex branch recently. This was a new location for me as my branch in Chelmsford had closed down. There is always the thought of whether you would receive the same level of excellence going somewhere new and I was pleased to find there was. One of the Admin staff members, Kira, was my nominated contact in regard to my service. She called me the day before to confirm my attendance. On the day of the service, Kira could not have been more efficient taking the lead on this car service. She fully explained to me what the service comprised of and was very prompt in calling me when my car was ready. Kira’s customer service was excellent, engaging, open and a friendly approach in answering any questions I had. The service was brilliant with my car also being cleaned inside and out and a nice little finishing touch. Overall, it was a great experience.
