I am leaving this review following a deeply disappointing experience with Stellantis & You Leicester regarding recall work carried out on my Peugeot 3008 under Recall Code MXL in January 2026. Our vehicle was brought in for mandatory recall work following a camshaft chain failure. The recall itself involved an extensive engine rebuild. Upon collection, the engine management light was already illuminated. Rather than investigate, we were kept without our vehicle for approximately three months with no courtesy car offered and no proactive communication — we had to chase repeatedly for updates. When a diagnostic was eventually carried out, their own technician’s invoice confirmed the AdBlue wiring harness had been found physically unplugged with corrosion — consistent with it having been disturbed during the rebuild. We were charged £121.66 for a diagnostic that identified damage caused by their own work. During a subsequent visit in May 2026, it was discovered that an incorrect oil filler cap had been fitted to our engine during the recall — going undetected for over four months whilst oil escaped under pressure. No apology was offered. Additionally, our vehicle key and service documentation were lost whilst in their care, a promised goodwill gesture was not honoured, and a key programming appointment resulted in an hour’s wait with no result. When we raised these concerns, the branch manager’s (Megan Saunders) conduct was wholly unprofessional — including terminating phone calls, becoming angry when we mentioned the Motor Ombudsman, and threatening to prevent us from using the dealership again. A formal complaint has been submitted and will refer the matter to Motor Ombudsman and DVSA. We would strongly advise other customers to document everything carefully when dealing with this dealership.
Perrys Huddersfiekd have my vehicle post accident to reset the control module. Only after ‘playing around for 5 days’ did they go back to Citroen Technical when they failed to reset this module. Having spoken to both Citroen and Perrys today they have been sat for another 5 days awaiting a response from Citroen. I need more urgency, thousands of Berlingos and other derivative models, Peugeot, Vauxhall, Fiat, Toyota are coming off the same production line. I had a few questions about my Peugeot when I came in and I went to my local Nottingham branch and I have to say the customer service by Harley and Keiron is amazing they are the kindest most patient guys ever. They provide such excellent customer service they make you smile make sure you leave with a smile and that you feel reassured and happy I couldn’t be happier. Anytime I go in I look for these two especially Harley he’s been wonderfully helpful always has a smile on his face. I have never experienced such kind customer service until I came to Peugeot and Harley really did top it.
I have been using this business for many years and always found them excellent. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the work is completed on time and communication throughout the day is first class with direct contact with the staff member who booked the car in by text available.
