I liked the no pressure sales tactics and the fact you can walk round at your leisure looking at cars, you can get keys, sit in them, check under the bonnet. Settled on a car, test drove it, got £100 off in the office, nice touch. Then it started to unravel. The finance agreement deposit was put through wrong, despite having a call with the sales man and saying it was only £5k deposit. Get ready to collect the car, but there is an issue with a sensor so couldn’t collect. Not an issue, these things happen and agree to collect the next day. Get to the showroom to collect and the car isn’t ready, finance agreement still wrong. They said they’d sort the agreement and put a full tank of fuel in and drop it to my house the next day, again a nice touch. The days arrives, get a call asking if I wanted to pay the £5,100 deposit, I tell them deposit is £5,000. We go back and forth about how if I only pay £5k, it’ll impact my monthly payments. By this point, I’m frustrated at the whole process and suggest the waive the extra £100 deposit, or I just cancel the order. I get call back after he’s spoken to someone to agree it, and says the car is ready to collect. I remind him someone said they’d drop it off and it would have a full tank of fuel. The delivery gets arranged and is dropped off at my house. I get in after the person has left and no full tank of fuel. I don’t think I’ll rush back to FOW after this, I’ve bought cars from Trade Centre before and while they only come with minimal fuel, what you see is what you get from them, no over promise and then under deliver. It’s not a 1 star as there were bits I liked, but my experience certainly wasn’t like the many 4/5 star reviews, which is a shame.
I looked around carefully for the car which I had in mind to buy. I made enquiries with FOW and was pleased to see that FOW had one. A Lexus CT200h. By appointment I met Danny Keam, one of your representatives. I have to say that this gentleman was absolutely brilliant with both me and my lady passenger. Everything was explained to us in a very deep manner. On our second visit to FOW we completed the paperwork and then soon afterwards had all of the controls of the car explained to us so that an enjoyable journey home could be made. Seems to me that Danny Keam was an excellent member of the FOW network.
Sienna was really helpful and ensured we had all the information we needed. Her attention to detail ensured that we knew exactly what we needed to do prior to collection. We had time to consider our options prior to the collection without any pressure. It made the collection day an exciting and enjoyable experience! Having reflected upon this I would definitely recommend FOW and will return in the future.
I was very interested in buying a 1 series BMW car for my daughter that they had advertised. I live 109 miles away, so I rang and couldn't get throught so left a message via Auto Trader ad. After a couple of hours a person rang me, she worked in the call centre and couldn't answer any questions about the car she kept have to ask other people. I have an old mini I wanted to part ex. It's not worth alot but eventually I got a part ex figure. I wanted slightly more. The BMW had advisories from an MOT, so there was room to negotiate, but I needed the principle set out prior to travelling down. Absolutely no interest, utter waste of time all I got was you need to come to site. Must be selling loads of cars as they were not interested in selling me a car. They are not car supermarket of the year not from my experience, very poor.
