I'd like to thank Tommy and Alex for their excellent service and patience! They listened to our needs and supported us make an excellent choice for our new car, without being pushy. This was our first purchase in 15 years and we are very happy. Thank you Anne & John (and daughter Leanne)
I had a really smooth and positive experience with Evan’s Halshaw Rotherham. Steven helped me with everything from my initial phone call to the dealership, to driving my car away. He made sure all my questions were answered, and ran through everything with me clearly and thoroughly! 100% recommend :)
I think this was the worst car buying experience, I initially placed deposit for my 3 year old used car. The video I was sent from Andrew sales advisor, that there was no scratches dents on etc in the video I was sent as I was located 270 miles away from this garage. I then traveled all the way to collect the car and the condition was in a very poor state with lots of marks all around the car etc. I had to walk away and they said they will then get the car fully machined polished in order to remove all the marks and painted all the deeper imperfections. I came back 2 weeks later to collect the car again and on collection, the cars sunroof was not working, the driver mirror cap casing was cracked and water ingress was happening. I was promised by Andrew that this will sorted at my local ford dealer and he said that he will contact them directly. It’s been over 3 weeks and the car is sitting at ford Wolverhampton still awaiting approval for the parts. I would like this to be escalated as this was a very poor. I raised a complaint with evanshalaw and they have still not responded even if I’ve chased them.
Went for annual service, according to service paper, it's two hours. The car was back in one hour. The service list showed ticks in all boxes, so everything checked and ok! I was suspicious, so checked the obvious things like brake fluid (which was ticked off as being checked), two days prior I was going to fill up the brake fluid reservoir as it was VERY low. It had been topped off at all, still dangerously low. The washer water was the same - untouched. I checked the door hinges, which should be lubricated - not done. Even tyre rotation was ticked as being done - not done. It would take around forty minutes to rotate the tyres, including the spare and the car was back in an hour. These things I checked whilst at home, the next day. So I decided to drive down to Evans Halshaw to have a word with them. I spoke to the aftersales manger, who after hearing my compliant, had to agree that it didn't sound correct at one hour. After all I had checked a few obvious, easy to check item from the service list - you have to wonder how much had not been done that I hadn't or was unable to check myself. The urgent issue here being the very low brake fluid - if left at that level and no-one had checked it, then the consequences could have been extremely dire. We pay a lot of money to have our vehicles maintained and to be let down in this most obvious of ways, is quite frankly disgusting - being as it was so blatantly obvious that the car had not been checked properly. The aftersales manager, suggested that I bring the car back again and it would be rechecked and he would make sure the top mechanic did the work (wonder if it really was the top mechanic)? Anyway I returned a few days later and the car was rechecked, with the exception of a test drive and tyre rotation, I had explained these two were not required at this time. I received the completed service record after an Hour ???? This time some items had been noted as N/A, which was good, as at least they knew what should or should not be applicable for the car. Needless to say, apart from an apology by the aftersales manager, that was all that was said on the issue. I decided to right this review, to let other people know, that just because it's the main dealer servicing your car, don't presume it's been done correctly. Check as much as you can after the service, check how long it took. Most of all check that brake fluid - wouldn't want an accident to happen further down the road, if it hadn't been filled up to level or flagged as a possible problem.
Sadly the sales “gentleman” felt the need to state that the car I was looking to purchase “wouldn’t be feasible” and that I would be “hard pushed to be accepted for finance or a loan” despite not knowing my financial situation or even enquiring about my income/doing any finance checks. Not sure if this was to do with me being a woman and looking at a sports car?
