Purchased an MG3 from Evans Halshaw York. All OK until we collected it. Was taken to the NEW vehicle after being assured it had been washed and valeted, and was shocked to see it parked in a lot with all other cars, the tyres were caked in mud and the drivers side inside trim and carpet was covered in mud stains. On inspecting the external condition found a number of deep scratches to the rear driver's side wing. I pointed this out to the salesman and the unclean condition of the car, and was told there was no one available to rectify this and to come back the next day. As we lived in west Leeds I was not altogether happy about this but agreed. When we returned the next day we were then told it could not be done that day as the scratches were to deep and to return the following Monday. Iwas not happy with this so agreed for the car to be collected and returned from my home address. I also agreed the level of compensation as a full tank of fuel and a set of car mats. This was agreed and the car was returned repaired with a full tank of petrol. As of today we are still awaiting the car mats(nine weeks later) despite various assurances they have been ordered. I have escalated thus issue to Evans Halshaw Customer Care portal and have not even received an acknowledgement. I have previously purchased through Vertu Volkswagen and the difference in service is huge. I will not be purchasing another vehicle with this firm again
Luke was great in talking through the options available to me, including products available through Hyundai, all in a no-pressure environment, leading to me securing a brand new Kona N Line S with a 4 year servicing plan. 10/10, very likely to come back in the future to buy through Luke again.
I recently brought my lease car in for a service, but upon arrival, there was a mix-up and my booking wasn’t showing on the system. Because no courtesy cars were initially available, I asked if the service could be done while I waited, which also involved waiting for authorization from my leasing company. Sarah Wainwright at the customer service desk was absolutely fantastic. Recognizing that the wait was going to take a while, she went completely above and beyond to source a courtesy car for me anyway, promising to phone me the minute my car was ready. From the moment I spoke to her, Sarah was incredibly nice, professional, and kept me fully informed throughout. She turned a potentially frustrating situation into a brilliant customer experience. Exceptional service!
Having contacted Evans Halahaw regarding a Fiat 600 I travelled from Wakefield to Hull. Two members of staff stood within feet of us as we peruses a couple of vehicles but walked off inside as we approached. We entered the building twice to be ignored. On finally gaining someone's attention we were told the said vehicle (only 141 miles) was 'broken.' A fault with the gearbox apparently. We were then 'shown' an identical one on the forecourt. Or should I say the boot was opened and he walked away. I had also requested a look at an orange one too but the response was ' it's identical to this one so there is no point me opening that one up.' How lazy seeing especially as it was at the entrance to the building. When I enquired on the price I was flabbergasted! The sales rep was reactive, rude and dismissive. As a cash buyer with no part exchange, Evans Halshaw you let yourselves down.
