Further update, disabled girl 19yrs old, has a Renault, Captur On Mobility. This car is 2025 reg. Since getting this car it has broken down 10 times, it just cuts out on the drive putting her i In a dangerous position that cars can go into the rear of her vehicle, This puts other drivers at risk, RAC have found faults on this vehicle but when taken to Renault they find no fault. They say this vehicle is safe to drive, it is an intermittent fault. Well in my opinion this car is unsafe, should she have someone go into the back of this car whilst driving I hold Renault responsible. Do not buy Renault car the service and help you receive is nil.
COWBOYS, We had a deeply alarming experience with Evans Hanshaw Kia Hull. This was a second hand car (Nissan Pulsar), and twice their repairs endangered our lives. After a few days of having the car, I experienced absolute brake failure, no brakes at all while driving, which was absolutely terrifying as a 26 year old driver. When this happened, they asked me to drive it in, but I refused due to the lack of brakes. They sent people out to collect it, and they told me, in their own words, they would “drive it back using the handbrake”, despite this being unsafe and illegal. They also admitted the part they installed had failed. I’m glad I recorded every conversation on the phone and in person, because we knew something wasn’t right. After we got the car back, we noticed they had tampered with our dashcam footage, deleting recordings of them driving the car back to the shop and the time it was in the repair shop. Then they said it was fixed, they delivered it to us, and the car was making a loud thump over speed bumps. They had not attached the brake lines to the car correctly. We messaged GARY ! several times, as he told us to contact him directly, but every single message was ignored. They still ignored us. We want to know if the car is under warranty still, but no reply. We had to pay to have our car fixed to a safe standard at another garage. That’s not to mention the dodgy MOT they put on it that was suposed to be a full clean mot , when in fact it had advisories and a broken coil spring (MOT FAILURE ) : Slight play in N/S/F prop link ( Advisory ) Rear axle brake pipes need securing & routing ( Advisory ) Rear axle brake flexis – slight corrosion on ferrules ( Advisory ) O/S/F spring broken ( FAIL ) Front brake pads 80% worn ( Advisory ) O/S/F tyre low on edges, also N/S/F ( Advisory ) Rear brake pads 75% worn ( Advisory ) O/S/R brakes slight bind ( Advisory ) N/S/F suspension arm, front bush splitting ( Advisory ) ........ funny because it only passed WITH A CLEEN MOT days before. AND Now the car’s clutch is slipping. Also, when we bought the car, they never bothered to valet it like promised, chewy on the back seat and the FRONT seat smelt like urine. I strongly urge anyone to avoid this dealership for your SAFETY.
We had an excellent experience buying a car from Evans Halshaw Hyundai Grimsby. From start to finish Dylan went above and beyond to ensure the process was as easy as possible. Coming from the Isle of Lewis, we had arranged to collect the car from Glasgow, and despite our travel delays due to ferry cancelations Dylan was very accommodating and arranged for the car to be in Glasgow when we arrived. He contacted us the day after to ensure everything was ok. We would highly recommend Evans Halshaw, and would buy from them again in the future. A big thanks to Dylan.
