nitially when we went to buy my car, the place looked great. Were able to take the car for a test drive, was able to see full service history and they were happy for us to take that day. We also bought a one month warranty. They also stated they would get a replacement number plate for the car sent out to us within the week as the number plate was slightly distorted. This never happened and its now 2 and a half months later. Unfortunately a week later, it became apparent that the horn had stopped working and the screen wash motor also failed to work. I called up about this to report it, as under the warranty it should have been fixed. They said they would ring me back. Two days later I had heard nothing, chased again on the phone and was told they would ring back. Rang for a third time, they said it would need an electrician. They rang me back an hour later and told me I needed to drop the car off the next morning with less than 24 hours notice. Unfortunately this was not possible as I live 2 hours away and couldn't cancel on work that quickly. They didn't understand that and said oh well we will call back. 2 and a half months later and I have had no call to book the car in for repair. Its a shame as really believed I had found a good dealership. Does makes me a question though how the car supposedly passed its MOT with no screenwash motor or horn working, despite these being major MOT fails.
Seemed to be a friendly and professional company but instead of agreeing to us getting an independent inspection (AA, RAC), they constantly told us that their checks would show any problems and urged us to purchase their warranty. They also kept referring to the car as “sold as seen”. We weren’t prepared to take the risk especially as I’ve never known a reputable dealer not encourage an independent inspection.
Bought a car from Elderwood motors for just over 6k. They were very quick to get the sale done, the car went through their 120 point inspection check (apparently) and got a years mot. All seemed fine, until we drove it for a few days. The car developed a large rumbling sound from the rear, as we were away on holiday I informed them straight away, they said that a courtesy car would be available whilst the car was in for repair. On return from our trip I made several calls to Elderwood, they kept saying no car was available. I was not willing to drive the car to them and leave without a courtesy car. After waiting a further 4 weeks they did finally book the car in for repair. However I had to give them the required repair work and parts number from a local garage quote as they were wanting to charge over 2k for the work. The garage also informed me that the car had been worked on previously and parts were bodged back together, the car did go in for its repair, on collection of the vehicle I was Greeted by a very unprofessional person, (I asked was the car 100% sorted, his manner was, drive it around for half an hour, im only here till then, if your not happy bring it back. In a very assertive tone) he identified himself as the manager, was much less friendly and professional than the person wanting my money for the car in the first place. There were also around 6 people all just sat looking at me as it was near closing time on collection (slightly intimidating) I believe in an area that has so many car dealerships Elderwood need to improve. To them over 6k might seem small, to me this should have been my new pride and joy that started off as a nightmare. The car still isn't 100% and I'm out of my warranty period now. If I could I would have returned the car to them and taken my business elsewhere. Needless to say I wouldn't be going back to them again.

AMAZING DEALERSHIP! Elderwood motors is a very honest and great car dealership! I bought a car recently from them (6 weeks ago) and there were no faults or damages. Beforehand, the owner had told me that if anything does happen and if there were any damages then they would replace it with no charge. Everyone was so friendly and cooperative that I am still in awe because of how quick they settled everything and I got the car for a very reasonable price
