Myself my Mum and my Dad have bought cars from Peter st Derby Lane Motors for the past 18 years or thereabouts. All used cars have there issues or faults but out of all the used car dealerships in the Liverpool area Peter will go out of his way to make transition to a vehicle purchased from him as smooth as possible . Any issues or problems we have ever had with any of the cars we have bought have always been rectified and sorted out. Some people don’t understand that some things just arnt covered by a dealership when you purchase a used car . As long as it’s MOT and had a service any future issues are really up to you to sort out like servicing, tyres and brakes etc . I’ve read a few disparaging reviews that don’t really ring true to Derby Lane Motors , all used car salesman get bad reps but truthfully Peter is fair and is prepared to work with you if there are any serious issues when buying a car from him. All his cars are checked over he buys the best used cars available that are out there , usually one or two owner vehicles that have been well maintained and all reasonable low mileage, but again they are used cars so will have their flaws that sometimes are not visible or just happen as they are mechanical. So I’m writing this review in regards to others just to say that I’m fussy what car I buy and I don’t buy rubbish just to save a few quid . Buy off Peter at Derby Lane Motors look after your vehicle and you will always get a really good trade in when you need a car in a few years from him. So it’s a thumbs up from me and I’ll keep going back to Derby Lane as it’s got great selection of cars all at various prices and if you can’t see something you like there speak with Peter and he will try and source the car your looking for. I really hope other customers who see a bad review on here will do like me and post to contradict a one off incident

Unfortunately they have just lost a customer. I have bought two cars from Derby Lane and Peter has always seemed genuine. I bought a car in October and it has just had an MOT. Brakes failed the MOT so I was informed new front and rear brake pads had been fitted. I have just had a full car service and both front and rear brake pads are 90% worn. I have just got off the phone and been told he will not help as it is 9 months down the line. I have driven 3000 miles since I have bought the car, there is absolutely no way they could be worn that much unless I have done at least 10 times that amount. Therefore I have been driving a car for 9 months with worn brake pads under the illusion they were new. It’s a shame as I have never had a problem and I would have always returned however my trust has gone and no help offered. Please be wary as these are obviously blag MOTs and who knows what else is being passed.

I would not recommend anyone to buy a car from here. This man Peter will look like genuine to you. But he actually is not. He sold me a car for a price of almost 40% more than the market value and that too with lots of dents and other faults. He promised me to rectify all those by the time of delivery but did not do it and I was left with no choice other than accepting the car with it. He promised me a complete pre delivery service and the next day of my pick up, the head light was gone. I had to go to the garage he asked, to fix it. When I went there 3 times, I could not find the person and on my 4th visit I got it fixed. A car with pre delivery service had its brakes worn out in 4 months and I had to replace it with my own money. At last I went to sell it back to him and he mocked at me with a price that no one can imagine. It was just half the price of what I paid him and year ago and just for 5500 miles driven. Can any car have a depreciation value more than 50% in an year? It was one only biggest mistake I made by buying a car from this seller. Never recommended.

Bought my Nissan qashqai from Derby Lane Motors and I can honestly say it's the best car I have ever bought. I was allowed to walk around the cars at leisure to decide which car I liked with no pressure and I even got to test drive it. I can't thank them enough. A totally reliable car which my wife also loves. Thank you Derby Lane Motors!!!!!

I would always do my best to help my customers these are used cars being purchased and cars can go wrong but I always look after my customers within warranty and beyond cars do have to be serviced especially if your doing very high mileage servicing is vital I'm always here to help

The worst place to buy a car I got my car last year my first ever car and they seemed so lovely an up to help with anything before the deal went through and as soon as the deal went through they completely fobbed me off I have had problem after problem with my car and they just don’t want to help me at all, the first day I drove it away the clutch went, the parcel shelf was also snapped in half, my timing chain snapped 4 months in to having the car they didn’t want to help with me that so I had to pay to get that fixed I have had to replace all the tyres and have my tracking done because that was also off my tyre pressure light never goes off coz the senses always break after being replaced my electrics in my air on we’re broke I had to get that fixed and now my fan belt is broke and I have to get that replaced they have refused to fix my car or help out in any way since I have had it and they have just left me to deal with it, I have no spent more that what the car is worth on getting it fixed as even with the warranty they refused to help the worst garage anyone could even think about going to, I would definitely not recommend.
