Bought a car here recently. Checked out their reviews before hand, some that were poor, but seemed unfair, so I went along for a look. Think i got a fair deal on a cheap car and I didn’t feel the guys at the garage tried to mislead me about the car in any way. I bought an old Škoda Octavia estate, it was \xa32200, 127k miles, 15 years old. Car was a bit ruff, very little service history, high ish miles. But I wasn’t expecting a new car for 2200. I think some people that buy cheap cars need to realise, they’re not perfect. There was no pressure from Gavin or any of the guys to buy, I asked about service history, they said it didn’t have much, showed me what it had, the service warning was on, which it easy enough to reset, it wasn’t, and they didn’t tell me it had been serviced recently when it hadn’t, as a lot of garages trying to make a sale do. I knew what I was buying, they didn’t try to sell it as anything else. I’ve got it serviced myself, done over 1000 miles in it, I’ve had no mechanical issues whatsoever. One tyre is loosing air slowly, had to pump it up a couple of times. But not a big deal. They may have sorted it if I took it back. But overall, I’m delighted with the car, I got what I paid for, a cheap old motor, bit ruff, but mechanically sound. I’d definitely buy there in the future and I’d recommend anyone looking for a cheap motor that’s aware cheap cars aren’t perfect to look there.
Be very careful where you purchase a car and do your research. Bought a car from Rhana cars in Armadale, previously known as Dale cars. Purchased my car September 2nd.. I know nothing about cars and needed one ASAP due to work ,appointments ect to which I had explained to Gavin. Off I drove , first thing had noticed when cleaning the car is the car doors were eventually going to need welded due to the body work being cracked to which I phoned Gavin and said to bring car back along to look but was told nothing could be done due to them not doing welding at there garage which fair enough and was old car. Second found documents from previous owners and boot of car where spare wheel is was all grease so the car clearly hadn't been checked inside,I then noticed my bonnet wasnt closing properly so messaged Gavin to which he said to bring it along, was told to pull the cable on the inside and make sure to slam the bonnet it would close , in which they done but I could not do this ,it became more straned so I messaged again ,again told to take car along , was told from one of the guys at there garage id need a new cable ,agreed and told they would be in touch .. 2 weeks passed and nothing. I then went to a trusted person to fix this to which more faults were found and could have been life threatening. The headlights were not working properly and had been cable tied, the exhaust was leaking carbon monoxide into the car which resulted in friend and i being incredibly unwell to which point my friend went home felt tired and passed out (obviously due to the gases) exhaust and flexi pipe were damaged and not fitted properly to which should've been picked up if the car had a genuine MOT before selling the car but was told "they didnt blow the exhaust" , everyone who knows about cars knows you need to test exhaust emissions ,it wont pass otherwise. It was later discovered the engine management light has been tampered with and the hazard warning lights are faulty. This was all brought to the attention of Gavin at Rhana cars ,armadale to which he didnt show any sort of remorse or even an apology, got my \xa3350 back for the repairs of the car but thats not nearly enough for the time missed at work due to no car and the danger he put both myself and family in including my CHILD. When visited him yesterday to try rectify this it was very apparent he did not care and had no means to repair outstanding issues with the car, even asked if I wanted to swap cars after paying for a new exhaust, flexi pipe, catalytic converter , fixture of the lights and the bonnet \U0001f605\U0001f605 My car has been away for repairs since November due to the extent of them and how big a job it was. Avoid at all costs.
I bought my first car just before passing my driving test from this garage. Traveled the whole way from Inverness, where a lift was organised by the garage for us from the train station to the garage itself, so that was nice. When we got dropped off, we were basically ignored. For us being people who were interested in buying a car, they didn’t seem to be too bothered about our custom. Myself (I know nothing about cars) and my boyfriend (slightly more savvy) asked if we wanted to take it a test drive, to which they said yes. He just handed us the keys and just told us to go. He didn’t check our licenses or insure us or anything! I could have easily driven it myself (I hadn’t passed my test yet) as he didn’t check! When we got back, we asked about service history, he told us they didn’t have the service history of the car, but that it had been serviced just 6 weeks before. Me, being in love with the look and brand of the car, bought it on the spot. 3 days after passing my test (3 weeks after purchasing car) the EML started coming on when going above 60/70mph. I got in touch and asked him again if there was any history of servicing or if he could at least provide proof that he serviced it. This was not an option. We didn’t get any receipts or anything or proof of purchase when buying the car, very unprofessional. I have just had to get the car serviced by my family friend, who said the car actually had an engine misfire. Avoid this garage at all costs. I say garage, it’s actually more like a shed in a gravel carpark. AVOID!!
