A couple of years ago I went to test drive a Nissan 370Z here that was up for around \xa317k. The owner was there and said his son would assist me. The first thing I got asked was whether I knew much about the car. Honestly, apart from getting lifts in one a couple of times with a work colleague, I didn\u2019t \u2014 which is exactly why I expected the salesman to actually tell me a bit about it. Instead I pretty much just got \u201cok\u201d. Then came the test drive\u2026 which was basically up to the roundabout and straight back. Maybe 5\u20136 minutes total. For a \xa317k sports car. Easily the shortest and least informative test drive I\u2019ve ever had. I wasn\u2019t massively sold on the 370Z, but I spotted a BMW Z4 there and asked if I could test that instead. I was told it was blocked in at the back and they\u2019d have to move cars around, so they wouldn\u2019t let me drive it \u2014 only sit in it. Ironically, sitting in that Z4 is what made me decide that\u2019s actually the car I wanted. Just not from here. A few months later I ended up buying a stunning Z4 35i with red seats elsewhere. Funny enough, this dealership actually had a black one at the time for similar money which looked amazing as well, but after the experience I had no interest in dealing with them further. The owner\u2019s reply honestly says everything. Instead of just accepting the experience was poor, it comes across incredibly defensive and arrogant \u2014 almost like customers are an inconvenience rather than the entire reason the business exists. The whole \u201cwhy leave a review 2 years later?\u201d comment is a strange point to focus on. I came across the dealership again recently while looking at cars and noticed there were already multiple 1-star reviews in the last 9 months describing very similar issues with attitude and customer service. It just reminded me of my own experience and confirmed it clearly wasn\u2019t an isolated bad day. Time passing doesn\u2019t suddenly make poor customer service good. And the explanation about the unit being so full they couldn\u2019t get another car out? That genuinely made me laugh. If the place is permanently jammed with stock and customers can barely test drive cars properly, maybe that\u2019s part of the problem. Usually dealerships make an effort to actually sell cars and create a good experience, especially when someone is potentially spending \xa317k\u2013\xa320k. Reading other replies on here shows the same pattern too \u2014 blaming customers, getting defensive, refusing to take ownership, and acting like basic expectations are unreasonable. If someone drives 115 miles to view a car, making a simple phone call if it sells is just common courtesy. Overall the whole experience felt dismissive, uninterested and honestly like they were doing me a favour by even letting me look at the cars.
Brought a beautiful Volkswagen Beetle from Bedford Specialist Cars recently and had the pleasure of dealing with Tom who was extremely patient, most informative and transparent with the vehicle history. Tom accommodated 2 test drives and made after sales contact to see how I was getting on with the car. I would highly recommend Bedford Specialist Cars!
Simply the best experience I could have had. Before, during and after the sale, Tom was absolutely incredible. I reserved my car and when I went to view it I was greeted by Tom, who let me take a look around the car at my own pace and then offered a test drive. He answered all of my questions and stayed in touch after the sale to ask how I was getting on with the car. I had to travel 4 hours to get to BCS but it was certainly worth it and I wholeheartedly recommend them to everyone.
Picked up this stunning car from Bedford Specialist Cars. From my initial enquiry with Leigh to my pickup from Tom the service I received was second to none. Despite a private plate retention issue on my part-exchange which was my fault, Leigh & Tom sorted it out with minimal fuss to my satisfaction.
