My experience with Mon Motors Audi perfectly demonstrates the difference between how they treat you before and after they have your money. During the purchase of my Approved Used Audi, the sales process was smooth and attentive. However, once the deal was completed, the level of service dropped off a cliff. The car was missing its second key due to the widely known chip shortage during COVID. During negotiations, I was led to believe that Mon Motors was generously supplying the replacement key out of its own pocket as part of the deal. I have since discovered that Audi provides this key free of charge anyway, so the “gesture” that was presented during negotiations was in reality something they were never paying for in the first place. That alone left a bad taste. What followed was even worse. The replacement key was never ordered. I contacted the service department multiple times and was repeatedly told someone would call me back. Not once did anyone return the call. Weeks went by with absolutely no follow-up whatsoever. I even contacted my original salesperson, who assured me he would personally sort it. Unsurprisingly, nothing happened, and no one contacted me. At that point, it became clear that once the sale is complete, Mon Motors has very little interest in actually supporting its customers. To resolve the issue myself, I visited Listers Audi instead. Within 10 minutes, they had ordered the key and booked the appointment. No excuses, no chasing, no empty promises. The contrast between the two dealerships couldn’t have been clearer. Mon Motors Audi was very helpful when they were trying to sell a car. When it came to the most basic level of after-sales support, however, they were completely unresponsive and frankly uninterested. Weeks of ignored calls and broken promises are not what anyone should expect from an Audi dealership. If you value after-sales support or basic customer service, I would strongly suggest taking your business elsewhere.
The whole Team at Mon Motors Audi Cardiff are very friendly and attentive. Gareth Shadbolt dealt with my purchase and was extremely helpful. Gareth kept me informed and updated of developments in the build and delivery of the car throughout the purchase. Any information and advice I requested was answered immediately and he responded to some late changes to the order on my part with patience. Luke in the Parts Department was also extremely helpful, explaining and ensuring the connectivity of my Audi dash cam functioned correctly. This was the second Audi I have purchased from Mon Motors and I wouldn’t hesitate in using them again in the future.
