Barford were excellent. [ I was turned away by another van hire in Norwich because I currently have a Canadian drivers license. This was not stated on their website even though they still charged me the full price]. I called Barford and they were very welcoming and arranged to have a van ready same day. They were very helpful and friendly. I would definitely use them again and recommend to my friends. Many thanks

Chris and the guys at Barford van hire were so helpful, firstly when we hired a Movano in May 2025, which I returned early after 4 hours. Then 2 days later I hired a DAF 7.5T lorry for a day to help with a house move. All went well until I was returning it in the evening. I was about 2 miles away on the rural road leading to Barford when an over-hanging tree branch clipped the big nearside door mirror, which shattered and disappeared. I knew I’d have to pay for a replacement and was expecting a big bill, but was pleasantly surprised to receive an invoice for just \xa3108. They will also give you 10% of the hire price if you have a Blue Light Card. I would definitely hire a vehicle from Barford Van & Car Hire again. Updated on 29/9/25 We booked to hire another 7.5T lorry but had to cancel just hours before picking it up today. Chris was so understanding and gave us a full refund, which was amazing. I doubt that many other companies would have acted this way. The guy below gave a ridiculous 1 star review because Barford have a 150 mile per day hire limit after which you pay just 12p per additional mile, therefore if he wanted to do 250 miles it would have cost just an extra \xa312 when he returned the vehicle. The hire from Enterprise would probably have cost at least \xa312 more. Clearly he didn’t do the maths.

Rang up after booking as I didnt realise they capped mileage at 150miles and charged per mile over that. I explained that their competitors offered 250miles range and was met with a huff and "whatever" not very professional at all, which is a shame considering I wanted to go with a local provider, rather than one of the bigger companies - Enterprise it is then

Great service from Barford Hire. Had one of their Small Postman Size Vans. Great drive. Pleasant service booking the van and got loads of insights in living near by as only just moved to the area. Won't be the last time I use Bardford Hire. Love the fact I can leave my car there under the CCTV coverage.
