I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I received from Auto Point and believe my experience demonstrates negligent and dishonest trading practices. I purchased a vehicle from Auto Point and within the first week it developed serious mechanical faults. I reported the issues immediately and returned the vehicle. I was informed that it had been sent to a garage; however, no proper repairs were carried out. The only action taken appeared to be clearing fault codes, which quickly returned. The underlying problems were never properly diagnosed or resolved. I also paid for an extended warranty at the time of purchase, expecting protection and peace of mind. Despite this, the vehicle was not properly repaired and the warranty proved effectively worthless in resolving the ongoing issues. When the vehicle later underwent its MOT, I was forced to spend approximately \xa32,000 to make it roadworthy. Even after this significant expense, the problems continued. Due to the constant faults and financial strain, I ultimately had no choice but to sell the vehicle for just \xa3750.
They bought my car on car wow auction it took two weeks for them to arrange pick up the driver arrived checked the car over took it for a test drive agreed everything was as advertised and tried to arrange payment it took a further 3 hours to get in touch with the garage they then called me and tried to knock the price down absolutely ridiculous unprofessional behavior. As you can see plenty of coolant.
A Dangerous and Dishonest Experience! I am writing to warn others about Autopoint York. I purchased a vehicle from them that was sold with an MOT certificate, which I now believe to be fraudulent. After paying for an independent inspection, I was informed that the car is not roadworthy and would absolutely not pass a legitimate MOT. The inspection uncovered: A seatbelt that fails to retract – a clear safety hazard. A buckled wheel – visibly damaged and dangerous. An oil leak that Autopoint York dismissed as “minor,” but was assessed by a qualified garage as a serious environmental and safety risk, far too excessive to pass an MOT. When I raised these issues, Autopoint York responded not with concern or accountability, but with legal intimidation. My first email was answered not by the dealership, but by their solicitors. That alone speaks volumes. Their dismissive attitude left me with two options: return the car to them for inspection (which I will not do, given the circumstances), or take legal action. In my opinion, Autopoint York sold me a death trap on wheels, backed by a potentially fraudulent MOT certificate. Their conduct has been unprofessional, evasive, and deeply concerning. I strongly urge anyone considering buying from this dealership to reconsider. If you must proceed, insist on an independent inspection before purchase—do not trust their word or paperwork. This experience has been costly, stressful, and dangerous. I will be pursuing this matter further, and I hope this review helps others avoid the same.
Excellent used car dealership, with a choice for all budgets. Excellent customer service from Steve. I viewed the car online, messaged about it arranged a test drive within the hour, and put a deposit down straight away. Mainly because I felt very comfortable with no pressure. Bought with full MOT and an all round health check they even did some extra bits including brakes and to the extent of touching in some stone chips. Amazing.
Called 2 weeks ago about a truck that was reserved at \xa310,999 (have a screenshot) but the deal fell through due to finance apparently. Relisted price is now \xa312,999 so I asked the reason for the increase and was told "did you honestly think we'd sell it for \xa310,999". Given the fact that it was listed at that then yes.... shall look elsewhere for more truthful sellers.
Bought a car from here, looked in good, all paperwork there etc... after less than 2 months the car had a major engine fault. I contacted Autopoint and they were not at all interested in helping me and said they only give 1 month warranty. I took the car to my garage and they said most reputable dealers offer at least 3 months warranty! I would avoid buying from here, they obviously are just interested in the money and not customer service!
