Stopped on route as I am considering changing my wife's and my car. Interested in a vw touareg and thee were 2 on the forecourt. Also a vw passat cought my eye. Admittedly went into Tesco to get cigarettes but walked around the forecourt and examined the cars that interested me. Was considering revisiting until today when I received a \xa3100 parking fine in the post. Presume they make enough out of parking, don't need customers to buy cars.
PARKING FINE - Avoid, be careful you may get a parking fine, Stopped here to have a quick look at cars as I was thinking of buying, only to get a \xa3100 parking fine. Bought car from main dealer. Avoid. Went to appeal, apparently you are aloud 4 mins ‘consideration time’, google this you will find out the law. Make sure you appeal the fines. !
PARKING TICKET ADVICE: If you’re reading this furious with an unfair parking ticket from this business’ property, search for Money Saving Expert's Parking Ticket Checker Tool to see if you can get out of it. There’s a good chance you can. I won’t recount my whole story, but I stopped here for 2 mins and 20 seconds on a Sunday to stop my children shouting at each other in the back of the car. My wife popped out to Tesco to get them something to calm them. For this, I received a parking fine. When I came to speak to the business owner about this, he had no sympathy whatsoever. When I said that, given that this parking enforcement company was acting on his behalf, I was going to share my experience in a review, he raised his voice, saying “don’t threaten me” multiple times, and conducted much of the rest of the conversation in this raised tone. He then gave me chapter and verse about the ways in which they’ve suffered from people abusing their parking (fair enough, but nothing to do with me, and he complained 3 times in this rant about business rates, which is even less relevant). He was smoking most of the time I was there too, so I left stinking of that. I’m leaving 2 stars, not 1, out of recognition of the unfortunate hand they’ve been dealt in some of the parking issues. But that doesn’t give them a right to pass on that negativity to others. My suggestions, for what it’s worth: 1) Sign a contract with a less malicious parking company, or have a 5-minute grace period written into your contract with this one. 2) Put up a big sign saying “If you park here and pop into Tesco, you will get a parking fine”. The multiple signs you have up cover you legally, sure, but you know that no one reads the Ts and Cs nowadays. They’re just background noise. If you want to be covered morally (and actually put up a deterrent that will work better), you have to make it much clearer. 3) Have a bit of empathy for the person in front of you, and don’t project years of baggage onto them.
Above all I received the greatest service that anyone could desire. I part exchanged my BMW for a fantastic Audi in excellent condition. Mike made my journey so much more special and so smooth from start to finish. The communication was exceptional and you could tell the experience Mike had along with John. Such honest people, good choice of cars and good prices. Nothing was not too much trouble. All in all I would highly recommend Autodeals, as you will not be disappointed. 10/10.
Bought my new car through Mike and part ex my beloved old car. I have been looked after from start to finish by everyone here. Amazing service and even better jokes! They have made the process very easy. Super bunch of gentleman, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them and use them again! Thank you!
Strayed onto their forecourt for 1m 20s, waiting for reversing cars to clear the way into the Tesco car park next door. This was on a Sunday evening when the business was closed, so I caused no obstruction or inconvenience. I didn't pull into a parking space, switch off the engine, or leave the driver's seat. Despite this, I received a parking ticket within days and my appeal against it has since been rejected. Whether or not it's legally permissible, or becoming more commonplace, it's disappointing to see companies take this approach, especially during a cost of living crisis.
