I purchased an MG HS from Arnold Clark Peugeot (Hamilton Road, Glasgow) and the experience since then has been extremely disappointing. On Easter Sunday, while driving to visit family, the engine management light came on. I contacted the sales advisor and was told to call back on Monday. From that point on, the service I received was unacceptable. I contacted the aftersales/warranty team on Monday and was told I would receive a call to arrange a booking, as I specifically requested a courtesy car due to work commitments. I received no call. I followed up again on Tuesday and Wednesday and was given the same response each time, with no progress or communication. By Thursday, I was still no further forward, so I went into the branch in person. The service manager took no accountability and claimed she had received no information until that morning ā despite multiple warranty staff previously telling me they had contacted her. This level of internal miscommunication is completely unprofessional. As a result, I had to take three days off work unpaid. (As not technically minded I didn't feel that I could drive the car due to EML being on) I was then directed to East Kilbride MG on Friday 10th April, only to be told on arrival that my booking was actually scheduled for the 14th. Again, this highlights a serious lack of communication from Arnold Clark. While I am glad the fault is now being addressed, the overall experience has been poor. I was also told that if I am unhappy, I can return the car ā but that would leave a mark on my credit file, not theirs. At the same time, they have refused to even consider compensation for the inconvenience and financial loss caused. This has completely taken away from what should have been a positive experience buying my wife her first car. Arnold Clark are quick to take your money, but once the sale is complete, the level of care and customer service drops significantly. I would not recommend based on this experience.
I had raised a complaint 10 days ago about the lack of communication and poor customer service I had received from Renault Stirling. I wanted to know why my car went in on the Tuesday and no one looked at it until the following Monday. Customer service advised they would look into my complaint and respond within 3-5 working days. 10 working days later and I have just received a call. The calls are recorded so I do hope someone listens to the calls the female who called me said they had spoke to the garage and I now had my car back!!!! Now I did not need customer service to call me to tell me that I asked about my complaint regarding lack of communication and delay in car being repaired. She did not know about this. When I was trying to say the customer service was not good she continually talked over the top of me. How rude but on par the level of customer service I have received from Arnold Clark overall. As a customer who has used Arnold Clark for more than 30 years I can honestly say when the time comes to change my car I will not be using Arnold Clark. You can get a good car but woe betide of you ever need customer service. Absolutely appalling and I would advise any potential customer to go to another company.
My review is for Arnold Clark Kia in Cumbernauld. Having recently bought a new car from this Branch, I found the customer service to be excellent, as I had made a specific request which was carried out as I had hoped. My initial contact was with Stuart (Manager) who was extremely helpful and accommodating. The purchase of the car was handled by Daniel (Product Consultant) who was friendly and professional, and throughout made sure that everything that I had requested was done. Really happy with the car and the extra effort put in by everyone involved.
Jag and the team were so kind and so amazing! Iām a nurse that came with specific requirements, budget and car in mind! I walked out with a better car than I asked for. More warranty. Way better and higher spec on the car. Lower tax bracket. I am so grateful that it was Jag I bumped into that day in store. He made my experience great! Not pressured and very logical sound advice. He was very supportive and informative and I needed that. I now have an amazing realisable 4WD car that I need! Thank you so much to all the team that helped me especially Jag.
Booked an appointment online for a car valuation as Iād brought my car from them and got up early, drove out of my way to be on time to be told valuer was with another customer and had no time to me. Appalling service, what a way to treat a previous customer, will never return. I would also like to state the car I brought gave me lots of trouble but never blamed them.
