Found a car perfect what I've been looking for on the 17th of march 2026 a 2019 plate Mondeo. I had reserved the car online and within about 30 minutes probably a bit less I got a phone call from the Kilmarnock Peugeot branch to start the finance etc and build a deal on my part exchange. Was happy we got to an agreed price on my car. Could have picked up the car on the 26th march but I had work so I arranged over the phone to pick up on Saturday 28th. Got to my local branch at Nottingham where the car got transferred and was dealt with by Ollie who couldn't have been more friendly. As he was busy with another client he came and gave me the keys to go have a look at the Mondeo was happy with it. As I went to start and fill in everything Ollie had come to a stop and told me the car wouldn't be going as couldn't tax it. Ollie got on the phone to the Kilmarnock Peugeot branch and asked about the v5 document, the sales consultant asked to speak to my self and explained what was what, told me over the phone that the v5 was with the admin team and they don't work weekends, so even tho i had spent money on a days insurance for the new car it was sorted of a waste of journey. Not blaming Ollie again he couldn't be more apologetic. Re arranged for Tuesday 31st, so I called Ollie on That morning nothing had changed on system, a few minutes after being on the phone to Nottingham I had a call from Kilmarnock Peugeot branch, story had changed slightly, I got told on the phone that I'd be in contact when the v5 was sorted and was to wait, no time scale or re collection date dealt with. I decided to contact the customer service line on the Wednesday as well as contacting the finance company Tuesday explaining what had happened etc and to see if there could be a way them chasing up. Lady at customer service for Arnold Clark said that she will get InTouch with Kilmarnock and try and see what's what even she couldn't understand about the v5 taking so long. Finished the call and had a phone call back 5 minutes later. Got told customer services couldn't get hold of Kilmarnock Peugeot branch sales manager so requested for contact to them and then for customer service to contact me back. Thursday I then emailed customer service with issues etc still waiting on a reply which I understand with Easter Bank holiday. Friday I decided to get on live chat with an agent and one of the messages was I spoke to a guy called Peter at Kilmarnock Peugeot branch which I've never only dealt with my sales consultant. They had also put a request to the branch to contact me. Since the 31st march 2026 I've heard nothing from Kilmarnock Peugeot branch so I can't even update Ollie at Nottingham. Best thing as well the car I'm still waiting on is still taxed until November. Only know that as Ive got know your car app in my phone. overall I wasted time on the 28th not happy with that. Put a review on Google and it's pending not gone on yet. I'd recommend not using the Kilmarnock Peugeot branch as my experience not the best. Total days waited up to now since reserving the car is now day 19 surly that's bad and says it all about that branch. Staff at Nottingham branch has got the 3 stars for service Kilmarnock Peugeot branch 0 stars. Arnold Clark Kilmarnock Peugeot branch get v5 sorted as this is ridiculous waiting 19 days for a car
I have bought my last 8 cars from Arnold Clark. The last one being last week when I bought my son a new car. I paid in full and it was a great service. However this week I decided to treat myself to a new car. I agreed a price. Shockingly it was £30 lower a month than I budgeted for. I stupidly told them this. A day later I had a call from them saying that they reviewed the finance and it was going up by £30 every month. So pretty much what I told them my budget was. over 5 years that’s quite a bit extra. So much to their surprise I said no. I don’t want to be ripped off in fact Arnold Clark have lost a customer. This has put me right off. I won’t be rippped off. I won’t buy another car from them. I have lost all trust in them!!!
I was in the Scottish Motor trade for over 42 years I was privileged to be known to sir Arnold personally when I went to buy I’m sure he would not be pleased also tried to reach out to the new head man Russell but he didn’t reply Sir Arnold or Mr Gall or Scott Willis would have end of story
I had a really positive experience dealing with Arnold Clark Glasgow. I initially had my reservations about buying a car remotely, but in my Dealings with sales advisor Hayley speed , my fears were quickly allayed.the whole process was trouble free from start to finish.I couldn’t be happier with the car , and would absolutely recommend this dealer.
