Purchased an MG HS Hybrid+ Trophy and while I am pleased with the car itself, the buying experience had some notable shortcomings. Communication could have been more proactive — I found myself chasing for updates on a number of occasions. The salesmen did try but appeared extremely busy, which may account for some of the issues experienced. On collection day, both sets of keys could not be located and after a lengthy wait I was given a demo car to use while the matter was resolved. Despite a price being agreed and quoted in writing, I was subsequently asked to accept an increase due to a salesman error — something I found frustrating given the deal had already been agreed. On the positive side, the business manager secured a strong trade-in value and the discount on the car was generous. I hope the few issues raised are taken on board.
My sales rep Ronald, at the Vauxhall Arnold Clark on Hamilton Road, was presented with my difficult situation with my previous car. I had been stressed due to the scenario and I was treated professionally, with empathy and given what can only be described as years of knowledge but in a non salesman fashion. The attention to detail to find a car that i could fit in was great and he was able to answer all of my questions and put my wife and I at ease. We really appreciate the hours taken to look after us in our choices and to get us back on the road in such a quick turnaround was greatly appreciated.
