I am extremely disappointed with the service and sales tactics at Arnold Clark Liverpool (Sefton Street). When I bought my car on PCP in January 2025, I was verbally promised a full 2-year peace-of-mind package (2-year Warranty, 2-year Service, and 2-year Guarantee). I explicitly stated I would not take a PCP deal if I were liable for repairs in the first two years. It has now come to light that I was mis-sold. While I have a 2-year service plan, the warranty was only for 1 year. The Sales Manager, Michael Reilly, has been incredibly dismissive, claiming that because the car "didn't qualify" for a 2-year warranty, it couldn't have been offered—completely ignoring that his salesperson used this promise to get me to sign the finance deal. To make matters worse, the service department has had my car and my documents for nearly a week. They failed to check my coverage until the car was diagnosed, then told me it was "too dangerous to drive away" due to a water pump issue. This left me with no choice but to pay over £280 for a repair I was led to believe was covered. I have now escalated this to Toyota Financial Services as a misrepresentation claim under Section 75. Avoid this branch if you value honest communication and fair treatment.
If I could give 0 stars, I would. Extremely disappointing experience with the Arnold Clark Linwood SEAT/Skoda service centre. My car has been in for warranty repairs for several days, and I have been repeatedly told it would be ready “tomorrow.” This has clearly not been the case, and I have yet to receive a clear or honest explanation for the delay. Communication has been poor throughout. I have had to chase for updates myself, only to be given vague responses and shifting timelines. There appears to be little regard for the inconvenience caused to customers. To make matters worse, I have been left without a courtesy car while my vehicle remains off the road, despite relying on it daily and continuing to make finance payments. This level of service is unacceptable. Customers deserve transparency, realistic timelines, and basic support when their vehicle is in for repairs—none of which have been provided here. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to think carefully before using this service centre.
I bought a car from Arnold Clark, and the clutch went in the first few weeks, they supposedly put a new clutch in, but clutch went again within a few days, they said they replaced clutch & flywheel but I believe they are lying, as the clutch went again. Problems with exhaust & tyres. Just a shady car dealership. Very disappointing. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!
Fortunately I have now got a lovely car, however I was not shown around the car or offered a test drive. I got in and had to spend a good few minutes working out how to start it as it didn’t have a traditional ignition and was actually started with a button I could not initially locate. Also I was promised a “treat” for buying my car but never saw any sign of that either. I’m usually really happy with the service I receive but not so this time.
Yet again I have been let down in the purchase of my latest car from this company, Arnold Clark. It seems to be more than just random bad salesmen and managers as in my case with this latest car the service I've has been terrible. I must have called 10 times to get someone to phone me back, which they still haven't done. Promises broken continually and just generally wasting my time after spending over £17000 at one of their branches. I've had bad service from them before but the last purchase has been just rubbish, I won't be buying another car from them in future
Arnold Clark Hyundai Dundee branch review My three children and I almost died on the highway due to an unprofessional part replacement! I ordered a service, and it was carried out in January 2026. I was told that everything was fine with the car, except for the recommendation to replace the oil seal (I have all the documents). This was a huge expense for my family, but I agreed. The part was replaced, but two weeks later I was driving on the highway with three children, and we almost died! Due to unprofessional installation of the part, the wheel almost got stuck on the highway (this is terrible). The oil seal, which they replaced and for which they charged a lot of money, continues to leak, as before. Moreover, due to improper replacement and installation, the problem spread to the entire wheel. I immediately called the company where the repair was performed, but they told me that I had to pay a lot of money for an inspection, and they could only do it in a month. I don’t understand, for what??? I have to pay? I wrote many letters, but in 7 days I have not received a response to any of them! We called again seven days later, and they offered to bring the car back in three weeks for an inspection. I'll have to pay for shipping, but why? Ultimately, it's your fault and your unprofessionalism. I believe that you, knowing the car has Ukrainian license plates and that we're going through difficult times in a foreign country, decided to take advantage of that. I saved my children from shelling and saved their lives, but I never imagined that your unprofessional work could almost kill us. I'm incredibly hurt and sad because I was looking for money and agreed to repairs, and you treated my problem with indifference. After we lost our home in the war, our family was left with only an old car, the only thing left of our former life, and your company deeply insulted our family and treated our problem with indifference and misunderstanding. Your country helped my children smile again, and your company deeply insulted my family. This is incredibly painful!
