I was so happy when I rang the Linwood branch and they told me they could deliver the car I wanted to Birmingham, this was a Saturday evening. I received a message the next day Sunday asking to pay the £99 deposit which I did, I then did not hear anything until the Tuesday when the salesperson I was dealing with told me she found a scratch on the boot area of the car and she is not happy to send it to me with this scratch on it, I messaged her back saying that is fine, I would rather everything done before I receive the car, so from Tuesday to Friday I heard nothing so I messaged and the sales person messaged me back saying she would have the car back from the body shop on the following Monday and then the car would be on it’s way down to me on the Wednesday. Wednesday came and went so I forced another update on the Thursday and got a message back saying we only got the car from the body shop yesterday (Wednesday) so it will be on it’s way to you Friday. Friday came and I had not heard anything so I called and got through to the wrong Arnold Clark store but the person I was speaking to was able to patch me through to the Arnold Clark I was looking for. After speaking to someone I was told I would receive an update by the end of the day which did not happen.all correspondence came via what’s app, the only time I actually spoke to anyone was because I sent an email of complaint and I got a call from the sales manager on the Friday after explaining there was further damage on the car and they did not want to send it down to me due to this, after getting this information I explained if the salesperson told me this and was honest with me from the start I would have been happy with this, he told me there would be a free gift in the car when I got it, I then received a message from the salesperson saying I would receive the car with a full tank of fuel which there was already three quarters of a tank when I actually paid my deposit, the car was still another two weeks before I received it and it did not come with the full tank of fuel as promised and they still charged me £25 for fuel, when I rang to say I finally got the car and would like some compensation for everything I had to go through they asked what I wanted so I told them I would like the £199 delivery charge refunded a the messaged me back saying they would send a cheque for £100 which I am not happy with but will have to do, just so everyone knows this has been the worst purchasing experience of my whole life and I would urge everyone to stay away from Arnold Clark when looking for a newer car.
I had a fantastic experience buying my car from Arnold Clark. From start to finish, the entire journey was incredibly smooth and well-organized. I also really appreciated that they took the time to Make well detailed Video clips with to explain all the technology and features inside the car before I drove away. The car itself was in pristine condition upon collection. It had been thoroughly valeted and looked brand new, which gave me a lot of confidence in the dealership’s standards. The paperwork was handled efficiently, and the communication throughout was clear and honest. I’m delighted with my purchase and would highly recommend Arnold Clark to anyone looking for a stress-free car buying experience!
