I have previously purchased cars from various AC branches in Scotland and have had mixed experiences (more positive than negative, but the negative is frustrating each time). This time we have been waiting almost two weeks for the payment of cash back and confirmation of the settlement of our existing finance agreement however all communication from the branch has ceased. If I email I get no response, when I call I just get told it’ll be passed onto the accounts team with no real answers, no one is taking ownership and just providing me with accurate timescales. If it takes a month for example, that’s fine, just say that. To collect the car and told I’ll likely have the money the next day is frustrating when it turns into weeks.
My wife part exchanged her car at the branch in Oldbury from a salesman named Shaun. Shaun promised the world to my wife and dealt with her in a timely and prompt manner to sell my wife a BYD ATTO2 car brand new part exchanging her Toyota CHR. Since having the new car, my wife has had tax taken out for her old car (this was to be resolved when it was sold), she has also had an extra payment taken out for her old car too. Having investigated further, the old car has still not been paid off from Arnold Clark in Oldbury and is still under a finance with my wife. Arnold Clark still have not paid off the remainder of the price of the old car. She has called the branch multiple times and has been told someone would call her back, even after requesting she spoke to a manager, the receptionist on the phone says that they are in a meeting (this has happened multiple times) and they will call her back. She still awaits her call back. After Shaun has promised her the world, his after sales skills have been awful and a process appears to be missing and/or something isn't being done correctly as a month down the line, we still have had no response from Arnold Clark, Shaun or any management from them!! I would absolutely avoid this branch all together and dealing with Arnold Clark as a whole hasn't been great after sales either as we are still paying 2 car finances and only have the one!!!
