Ross was very helpful and patient. He was pleasant and did his utmost to help within my budget. Nothing was a problem. Ross also called 2 weeks later to ask if everything was OK and any problems to give give him a ring at any time. On the whole very happy with the service I received from Ross at Arnold clark.
The only reason not to give 5 stars is because, firstly I had to go back to the dealer 9 days after I traded in my car to find out what happened to my equity payment ? It was arranged for a bank transfer, but when I asked where my payment was, the consultant was unaware of this and duely found a cheque on a desk in the finance office with my name on it !! Secondly, over the 9 days, my existing finance has not been settled......9 days !! This was not acceptable, as I was due to make another payment on my old car that Arnold Clark now owned !! It should not take 9 days to settle a finance agreement, so in my opinion this needs investigating. In summing my experience up, I would say that my Product consultant was extremely friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and professional, it was the after care that let the whole experience down.
I visited today as an existing Mazda customer, fully intending to upgrade to a 2026 ND3. When I purchased my current car here two years ago, the experience was overwhelmingly positive and professional. Sadly, today’s visit couldn’t have been more different. Despite bringing a pristine 2024 MX-5 (14k miles) and verified market data showing a trade-in value between £21k-£23k, I was met with a 'blind' computer valuation of just £17k before anyone had even seen the car. Even after a physical inspection, the staff doubled down on this low-ball offer, claiming the bonnet needed a full respray for a few tiny stone chips (0.25mm)—a claim that feels like a transparent tactic to chip the value of a high-quality trade-in. The experience was so gridlocked by this refusal to acknowledge fair market value that we didn't even reach the stage of discussing the 4.9% loyalty APR or the final figures. It’s frustrating to see a branch I previously recommended treat repeat business with such a 'take it or leave it' attitude. I’ll be taking my loyalty elsewhere.
