Arnold Clark Aberdeen Mazda/Fiat/Abarth/Jeep/Leapmotor
Craigshaw Road, West Tullos Industrial Estate, Aberdeen, AB12 3AR
Having bought many cars from Arnold Clark and given five star reviews, my Most recent experience has soured my views and ensured that I won’t buy from my local branch again. Went to my local Citroen branch with a vehicle in mind but they didn’t have what I was looking for. I went up to the motor store where I usually buy my cars and we saw one online that seemed perfect. Advertised as 12 miles on the clock and a 75 (2026) model with a saving on new price. Assumed it was a pre registered vehicle. As the vehicle was around 60 miles away and I was keen, my local branch offered to get the vehicle through for a test drive with a view to buying. Perfect. The following day I got a phone call from my local branch saying the car wasn’t registered yet but that was going to be done in the next couple of days. The branch had reserved it for me. 5 days came and went and got a text to say still not registered. A couple hours later a phone call to say the other branch was stalling on registering and wanted £200 deposit to do this “to show my commitment”. Given I hadn’t seen it or test drove one because I’d been unable to find one, I refused. Salesman couldn’t get off quick enough and then I see online the vehicle is not reserved and now being advertised as a 26 plate. They did not intend pre registering as advertised. Underhand - won’t deal with them again
I personally think that now that most of sales process being completed online can be a bit stressful for older customers. I had to return the vehicle for a minor repair 5 days after purchase and the sales person passed this onto another department. When my car was repaired i was left to find my car myself in a dark car park at the back of the garage. Also when i recieved my V5 the details were incorrect and had to contact the garage to get this corrected. All of these small issues took away from the experience of purchasing my new car as they all added additional time for me. to deal with and time off work to return the car. The aftersales care was not what i expected as the sales rep just passed these onto other departments.
I had a rough idea of what I was looking for as a current Mercedes owner. I had a good experience with the salesperson who quickly understood what I was wanting and steered me in correct direction. Agent wasn’t the hard sale ( which is annoying) but realistic and left feeling I had made own decision and right for me. Thereafter, agent was incredibly helpful and both patient and keen to help . I would happily recommend my sales agent to others and will return to in the future if still in sane role.
