Peugeot cars range from practical five-door hatchbacks to family-friendly SUVs, with many cars offering the choice of petrol, diesel, hybrid or pure-electric power. So whether you’re after a practical hatchback or a large SUV that seats seven, a used Peugeot could be just the thing.
A variety of trim levels are available and even the most-affordable Peugeot cars offer you the latest tech and safety systems.
There’s a wide range of used Peugeot cars available including hatchbacks, saloons, estates, SUVS and MPVs. The smallest is the 108 hatchback, then they rise in size to the 208 and 308 hatchbacks, the 308 SW estate and the 508 saloon and 508 SW estate.
The range of Peugeot SUVs includes the 2008, 3008 and 5008.
Other used Peugeots you might come across are the RCZ coupe and the Rifter, a spacious and practical MPV with up to seven seats.
There are plug-in hybrids versions of the Peugeot 308, 3008, 408 and 508. There are also models available with conventional hybrid power (sometimes called ‘self-charging hybrids) that don’t need to be – and can’t be – plugged in to recharge. These are the 208, 308, 3008, 408 and 5008.
Pure-electric Peugeots include the E-208, E-2008, E-308, E-3008, Rifter and Traveller.
The Peugeot 208 is a small hatchback, and one of the few available with a choice of petrol, diesel and pure-electric power. All versions come with five doors and an upmarket interior that includes a large touchscreen display and a driver’s instrument panel positioned high on the dashboard.
The Peugeot 2008 may be based on the 208 but it’s quite a bit larger, with a more spacious interior, a larger boot and a raised driving position. You can choose from a variety of trim levels and fuel-efficient engines. Or go for the pure-electric model.
The Peugeot 308 is a stylish family car that’s available as a five-door hatchback or an estate called 308 SW. You get lots of equipment included as standard and a large boot. For a sportier ride, try the 308 GTI hot hatchback.
The Peugeot 3008 is one of the brand’s most popular models. This mid-size family SUV looks good on the outside and its interior is beautifully designed inside. It’s practical, comfortable and gives you a smooth, quiet ride. You can choose from petrol, diesel or plug-in hybrid power. An all-new pure-electric version called E-3008.
The Peugeot 5008 is essentially a 3008 with a longer, taller body for a roomier interior. It adds an extra pair of seats in the back, turning it into a practical, seven-seat family SUV. The user-friendly interior has an appealingly upmarket feel, especially if you choose one of the higher-spec models.
The Peugeot SUV models are the 2008, 3008, 408 and 5008. The higher the number, the larger the car, although it’s worth noting that the 408 has a lower roofline than the 3008.
The 2008 is a small SUV based on the 208 hatchback that’s a rival for cars such as the Ford Puma and Renault Captur. The 2008 has a sharp-edged, futuristic look inside and out and is available with a petrol or diesel engine, or as a pure-electric model called E-2008.
The mid-size 3008 is a rival for cars such as the Ford Kuga and Nissan Qashqai. The version that went on sale in 2016 is available in petrol, diesel, hybrid, plug-in hybrid or pure-electric power. An all-new version was introduced in early 2024, as a mild-hybrid petrol or pure-electric (E-3008) model.
The Peugeot 5008 is essentially a longer version of the 3008, with seven rather than five seats. The version on sale from 2016 is available with petrol or diesel power but an all-new version due on sale in 2024 will also be available with pure- electric power.
Depending on your definition of an SUV, you could categorise the Peugeot 408 as an SUV coupe. It combines the raised ground clearance of an SUV with a sleek, five-door hatchback body. It's both lower and longer than any of Peugeot’s conventional SUVs so offers something quite different to all of them.
