Daihatsu is an auto manufacturer thatโs known for two main things- super minis and 4x4s. The Terios is a combination of both and proves you don't need a hulking great bruiser to enjoy the great outdoors. It's a revelation for people who live in urban areas and want something relatively durable that can handle trips around town or weekends in the wild.
The Terios was launched in 1997 and looked a bit like a milk float back then, but several different upgrades, facelifts and generations later it's actually quite stylish. Taking its mini SUV? badge to the extreme, it really is small but that's not a problem because it works very well.
While the interior might be quite plain, there's a lot of room inside so it's not uncomfortable, and the boot is huge for a car of this size. It'll have no trouble carrying shopping, golf bags or prams, so is a good option for small families who want something practical. There's a basic amount of gear to play with, but it's alright because adding anything else would lead to an overcrowded feeling.
The ride is decent and it's an ideal car for cruising around town; you'll have no problem ducking and diving through traffic or parking in the tightest spaces. With a good 4x4 system, going off road isn't a problem although it's probably wise to avoid driving up mountains or through rivers as the ground clearance is nowhere near that of a regular sized monster.
Daihatsus aren't the most expensive of cars to buy brand new by any means, but that doesn't mean you should give up looking for bargains. At Cazoo there's an excellent range of used cars for sale with big price discounts, so finding a great deal on a second hand Daihatsu Terios is more than possible.
The Daihatsu Terios then is a pint sized off roader that really packs a punch. It's at home on the tarmac but equally as confident on the rough stuff, and while it might be rather basic, it's ideal for those people who want to get in and go. A great blend of super mini and 4x4, it's practical, versatile, and always worth a look.
