Much HadhamThis UKdelivered RHD Aston Martin is a rare car even by DB5 standards. Delivered new in December 1963, it has only 3 former keepers with the current owner having taken possession in 1991. A very special car, it is noted in AM magazine and other records, as being the Brands Hatch and Oulton Park record lap holding car, which is signified by its unique engraved plaques mounted inside the glovebox. Furthermore, the condition and history is beyond reproach, making its value somewhat higher than that of the asking price, and a relative bargain compared to other cars available on the current market. This matching numbers DB5 was originally delivered in Caribbean Pearl paint and optioned with chrome wire wheels. Very early in its life, it was colourchanged to the ubiquitous Silver Birch with Black Leather interior, and such is the quality of this renowned car, it has been a paid guest and participant in many 007themed events over the years. Recent works prior to sale have incurred circa £35k of expense to present the car as you see it here today. These works included a full baremetal respray by marque specialists, resulting in a car that presents superbly, aided by impressive brightwork and immaculate wire wheels. Wherever you look, this is a car that impresses. Move to the interior and youre greeted by an impressive dashboard array and that unique 'talking point' steering wheel. The dashboard chrome remains unpitted, the Connolly covered seats remain perfectly shaped, and the Wilton carpets freshly replaced. The leather carries a gorgeous patina worthy of such a storied car and accompanies a gorgeous aroma that is unique to vehicles maintaining original elements from their era. Open the bonnet and the 6cylinder engine is a delight to see, looking exactly as it should. With all factory plates correct and present, the engine has been fully rebuilt to an upgraded 4.2L spec and runs like a dream. The vast history folder includes the factory build sheet, the very rare and original leather DB5 Instruction Manual, magazine features, and inches of invoices and historical documents including sales invoices and handwritten ledgers of work completed. Recently serviced and superbly presented, this spectacular 49,000 mile car that is more than just 'a mere DB5', will be sold with a 12month marketleading extendable warranty and will be subject to our rigorous PDI before delivery to its lucky new custodian.
