Restored over a 25year periodRegular show attendeeWith the introduction of a moving assembly line in 1913, Henry Ford famously turned his Model T into the world's first mass made car. A year later, Model Ts represented 56% of all automobile manufacture in the USA at 308,162 units. However, it was not just the sheer volume of Model Ts rolling off the production line that motorised America, it was the inherent quality of the design. Launched in 1908, the T's chassis and mechanical components were made from exceptionally durable, highgrade vanadium steel. The Ford also featured a compact 2890cc, side valve, fourcylinder engine that pioneered the use of a detachable cylinder head. Developing 23hp at a leisurely 1,600rpm and 80lbft of torque, it was mounted in unit with the clutch and twospeed epicyclic gearbox assembly. Top speed was limited to around 45mph depending upon bodywork, whiles brakes operated on both the transmission and the rear wheels. With a 100" wheelbase, 10" ground clearance and transverse leafsprung suspension, the T was perfectly adapted to unmade roads.This beautiful and charming right hand drive 1926 Ford Model T with a fourdoor Touring body is presented with splendid white coachwork and contrasting red trim which along with the carpet, and black hood is in as new condition. 100 years old this year and testament to Henery Fords engineering, this example was a 25year labour of love restoration project. First registered in the UK in October 2009 it was recommissioned and enjoyed at various shows throughout the summer of 2025. We are informed it performed without fault, starting on the button with rare upgraded electric starter. This very wellmaintained Ford is supplied with a V5C registration document and is an example that could continue to be enjoyed for many years with very little cost, indeed its an iconic 100yearold car for any collector or enthusiast. Our vendor tells us, It draws crowds wherever it is parked as the colour and condition is just so striking. This example is one of the attractive we have seen and not to be missed.
