Iver1 Previous Owner, This Lot will be sold at auction at Symphony of Spring; Ascot Racecourse on Saturday 7th March. Has only covered circa 100 miles since completionFabulous colour combinationUnmarked and beautiful conditionThe RollsRoyce Silver Cloud III represents the final evolution of one of RollsRoyces most elegant and distinguished postwar models. Produced between 1963 and 1966, the Silver Cloud III built upon the refinement of its predecessors while incorporating subtle yet significant improvements in performance and styling. Under the bonnet, it featured the same robust 6.2litre V8 engine introduced in the Silver Cloud II, but with a higher compression ratio and lighter bodywork, which gave it improved acceleration and responsiveness. Visually, the Silver Cloud III is recognizable by its twin headlamps, a first for RollsRoyce giving it a more modern and slightly sportier appearance. The cars long, flowing lines, chrome accents, and stately grille preserved the marques timeless grandeur. Inside, luxury abounds: handstitched leather, polished walnut veneers, and meticulous craftsmanship created an atmosphere of quiet opulence. The model was available as a standard saloon, a longwheelbase limousine, or bespoke coachbuilt versions by H.J. Mulliner, Park Ward, and James Young. Famed for its grace and smoothness, the Silver Cloud III symbolized effortless prestige and impeccable engineering.Originally registered on 27th May 1964 this stunning Silver Cloud III is finished in the delightful colour scheme of Athenian Blue, with Magnolia hide piped in French Navy Blue with Royal blue carpets. The power hood is finished in blue mohair and operates exactly as it should. The fastidious and knowledgeable vendor has ensured the work carried out on this RollsRoyce has been carried out to the highest standard. It is estimated the car has only covered around 100 miles since completion. There is a comprehensive range of photographs available to confirm the extent of the work carried out. This could effectively be classed as a new car delivered 60 years late, such was the extent of the restoration. The car was completely stripped prior to the roof modification, the adaptation was carried out alongside an original Mulliner, which was used as a template, along with Mulliner drawings, ensuring this example is as close to an original one as possible. To drive a Silver Cloud III is one of lifes pleasures, to drive a drophead in unmarked condition takes the experience to a whole different level. Even today, it remains one of the most desirable classic RollsRoycesan enduring icon of British automotive excellence and aristocratic motoring style. Consigned by Stewart Banks.
