IverThis Lot will be sold at auction at Symphony of Spring; Ascot Racecourse on Saturday 7th March. Best colour combinationDesirable manual overdrive gearboxThe Stag name was a development codename allocated when the design project was initiated by Giovanni Michelotti in 1965. None of the subsequent names suggested through the process were ever deemed more compelling, 55 years later, the Triumph Stag still occupies one of the cornerstones of the collectors car market. The svelte Michelotti styling married to decadent V8 power makes this model both beautiful to look at and enormous fun to drive. Add to that a thriving club network, these cars make for hugely desirable ownership.Having benefitted from recently being repainted in the handsome shade of Sapphire Blue, this elegant Stag presents beautifully and benefits from retaining its hardtop. Thankfully when stripped for painting, little rust was found. What was found was repaired with parts supplied from renowned Rimmers Bros. The supplied history file includes the receipts from Rimmers Bros. The vendor has also had the bumpers replaced for new items as well the front and rear light lenses and badges being replaced. The prior owner of the car had taken on a mechanical restoration which included an engine refresh with the timing chain being replaced, new tyres, new brake calipers and the replacement of the suspension bushes. Reported by the vendor to run and drive well, this desirable manual overdrive gearboxed Stag is ready to be cherished by its next owner. Consigned by Will Penrose
