Car location
IverThis Lot will be sold at auction at Symphony of Spring; Ascot Racecourse on Saturday 7th March. Original bill of saleHistory dating back to first registrationThe Rover Mini Cooper Sport Pack represents one of the final and most desirable evolutions of the classic Mini, a design that had remained largely unchanged since its debut in 1959. By the late 1990s, the Mini had become an icon of British motoring, celebrated for its compact dimensions, sharp handling, and unmistakable character. The Sport Pack version enhanced this legacy with distinctive styling and performancefocused upgrades, with its factoryfitted wide wheel arches, 13inch alloy wheels, and lowered suspension. The flared arches and chunky tyres not only improve grip but also lend the car a muscular, purposeful appearance. Additional details such as twin spotlights, chrome trim, and bold bonnet stripes further emphasise its sporting heritage. Under the bonnet, the Cooper Sport Pack is powered by a 1275cc fuelinjected Aseries engine. The fourspeed manual gearbox, direct steering, and minimal driver aids create an engaging, mechanical driving experience that modern cars often lack. Inside, the Sport Pack typically features alloyeffect dashboard trim, and classic central instrumentation. Despite its compact size, the Mini offers surprising practicality for city driving.Originally registered on 8th June 1999, this Mini Cooper Sports Pack was supplied by Henlys Northamptonshire and used as their demonstrator for the first month of its life. The owner had the car until circa 2010 when it was partexchanged, having covered around 70,000 miles, with a dealer in Northampton. The Dealer Principle loved the charm of this delightful Mini and decided to keep it under his wings until 2024. Finished in Tahiti Blue with a white roof and bonnet stripes and a contrasting Horizon Blue leather interior. We are advised the 1275cc engine runs well and the gearbox operates as it should. Supplied with a V5 registration document, a current MoT test certificate valid until 20th October 2026 and a comprehensive history file showing 17 services, going back to 1999 and the original bill of sale. Recent expenditure of circa £3,000 was spent last year including a full service, new brake servo, master cylinder, front shock absorbers and new rear tyres. As one of the last classic Minis produced before BMWs redesigned Mini launched in 2001, the Rover Mini Cooper Sport Pack remains a cherished collectors car and a fitting tribute to a motoring legend.
