IverThis Lot will be sold at auction at Symphony of Spring; Ascot Racecourse on Saturday 7th March. Number 827 of only 1,000 UKsupplied, right hand drive examplesExcellent service history with fully stamped service bookDrystored as part of a private collectionBuilt at Subaru's Fuji Heavy Industries plant in Japan and perfected in the UK by rally 'royalty', Prodrive, the Impreza P1 was always destined to become a hugely desirable modern classic. Produced in a limited run of just 1,000 cars, all finished in the iconic Sonic Blue, the P1 was based on the WRX Sti Type R and comprehensively reengineered for European roads. Subaru had a single, uncompromising goal when developing the P1, to create an Impreza capable of outperforming Mitsubishis formidable Lancer Evolution VI. In 1997, Prodrive launched the twodoor Subaru Impreza World Rally Car (WRC) and won the Manufacturer's Title in its inaugural season. The WRC97 thrilled motorsport fans the world over and gave birth to iconic roadgoing versions.Prodrive engineers fitted the antiroll bars from the Europeanspecification Impreza Turbo, along with the firmer springs and shock absorbers, resulting in a superior suspension. Power came from a revised version of Subarus legendary rallybred 2.0 litre turbocharged flatfour engine featuring recalibrated electronics/engine management and producing an impressive 280bhp, a substanital 69bhp increase over the standard Impreza Turbo. Completing the package is ABS braking, anthracite OZ Racing alloy wheels, and distinctive bodywork styled by Peter Stevens, designer of the McLaren F1. A deeper front spoiler, prominent rear wing, colouredcoded mirrors, door handles, and side skirts give the P1 unmistakable rallyinspired stance. Driving visibility is enhanced by the iconic Hella 90mm driving lamps, again lifted directly from the World Rally Car.A very exciting discovery, this Impreza is number 827 of 1,000 UKsupplied, right hand drive examples. It was first registered on 5th September 2001, having been supplied new by Subaru main agent, Donalds Garage Peterborough. The cars maintenance record is excellent, boasting a complete service history with all the stamps present in the original service book. Recent works carried out in November 2025 at 72,410 miles totalling £2,014 includes the oil filter, fuel pump and filter, rear differential seal outer left and right, rear differential oil and drain plugs, air flow sensor and throttle gasket, idle control valve and front anti roll bar links.Stored in a temperaturecontrolled garage and kept well away from salted roads and adverse weather, this example remains in excellent condition both cosmetically and mechanically. Finding an Impreza P1 of any standard has become increasingly difficult in todays market and discovering one with such outstanding provenance, low ownership and a complete service history is exceptionally rare. With Japanese performance icons continuing to soar in value, his P1 represents an unrepeatable opportunity for the discerning collector, enthusiast, or marque purist. Currently forming part of a private collection, the car is accompanied by a comprehensive history file including the V5 registration document, original dealer book pack, service book with 15 stamps, a folder of supporting invoices and the rare Prodrivetailored carpet mats.
