Kings Lynn2 Previous Owners, Exceptional 1982 Ford Cortina 1600 Petrol Crusader Manual Saloon finished in Coral Beige Metallic Coachwork with Peat / Mocha Valour Upholstery. Originally exported and registered in the Isle of Man to Dr John Vernon Dunworth CBE who was of profound importance in the nuclear energy industry. We have a lovely handwritten letter from Dr John Dunworth CBE to the cars second Isle of Man owner (Mr Graham) dated August 2006, detailing how one should drive the car and look after it, so nice to see! The car went on to live a secluded existence on the island with Mr Graham until 2016 when it was imported to the UK. The car has a lovely portfolio of documents and history including copies of the export papers and Isle of Man Logbook. In 2016 the car was purchased by its first UK owner (Mr Tucker) who kept the car for over 7 years. In 2022 Mr Tucker commissioned a full mechanical overhaul of the vehicle costing nearly £4,000 in readiness for onward sale including but not exclusive to engine removal, new clutch, camshaft, carburetor, timing belt, alternator, starter motor, fuel tank sender, fuel pump, and hoses with supporting invoices. The shell itself is in totally rust free condition and is completely solid on all floorpans, sills and arches. Underneath has been sympathetically finished with a coat of waxoil to future proof it, while still clearly showing that there is nothing undesirable being hidden. Various hard to source new old stock parts have been fitted, including a fresh carpet boot mat and chrome trims. This Cortina boasts many charming original features that enhance its appeal. The velour interior provides a comfortable and luxurious feel, while the elegant wood trim adds visual interest. Refurbished steel wheels paired with Uniroyal tyres offer both style and functionality. Spot lamps contribute a vintage charm and improved visibility, and the fresh chrome parts enhance the classic appearance. Additionally, the correct decals ensure authenticity, all of which combine to create a rich character and charm. The car was then sold to its second UK owner (Mr Paulo) in 2023, a change of circumstances 12 months after his purchase meant Mr Paulo needed to invest in a motor home and the car was marketed on his behalf by a well respected classic car dealer in the South West of England. The car was sold incredibly quickly to its third UK owner (our customer) who drove the car some 600 plus miles from the South West of England back to his home in the Scottish H...
