Car location
IverThis Lot will be sold at auction at Symphony of Spring; Ascot Racecourse on Saturday 7th March. The Mini was manufactured by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and its successors from 1959 until 2000. The original is considered a British icon of the 1960's and its spacesaving frontwheel drive layout allowing 80% of the car's floorpan to be used for passengers and luggage, influenced a generation of car makers. In 1999, the Mini was voted the second most influential car of the 20th century behind the Ford Model T. Initially Minis were marketed under the Austin and Morris names until Mini became a marque in its own right in 1969. The Mini was again marketed under the Austin name in the 1980's and was offered in a number of limited editions that usually included a special combination of trim and badging. This delightful British Racing Green example was purchased by our vendor for his daughters 21st birthday in 2022, a perfect entry level classic with bagsful of style sitting on Minilite wheels and with arch extensions, spotlights and of course union jack roof decals. The engine was replaced for a new 998 A+ engine alongside the gearbox and clutch in 2023, the mechanic who fitted it detailed in the invoice that this was engine number 107 fitted so safe to say an experience pair of hands. Running on unleaded fuel and Valvoline VR1 oil, lots of love time and expenditure has been spent recently including the alternator and carburettor. Our vendor is only selling as his daughter has moved into London and no longer needs a car and as it is such a great runner our vendor is hoping a similar enthusiast will want for a great looking entry level classic which in his wordsdrives as well as it looks. and it does look great.
