Fabulous, quick and rareGood history, has original buff log bookOriginal chassis and engine from newThe 1926 Sunbeam 3 Litre Super Sports is a rare and historically significant British vintage sports car one of the fastest and most advanced road cars of its era, built to rival the famed Bentley 3 Litre. It stands as one of the standout British sports cars of the vintage era showcasing early twincam technology, competitive spirit and refined engineering at a time when the sportscar concept was still developingThis wonderful Sunbeam, known as The Quick One , was first registered on March 11th 1927 and appeared in the November edition of Autocar in 1926. It is presented in British Racing Green with black leather interior and has the very attractive fish tail or Brooklands style rear, floor change gears and it also comes with split aero screens, located behind the more conventional screen (as seen in the photos). This is the only three litre car that had the threeseater body fitted by Carbodies. It has retained its original Rene Thomas steering wheel and has Rotax Le Mans headlights and has a Jaeger 24hour rally clock. This car was owned by Mr Michael Collis from the early 1970s and was campaigned regularly by the family and is known to be the fastest three litre Super Sport at the following events: Shelsley Walsh, Prescott Hillclimb, Wiscombe Hillclimb, Loton Park and Brooklands Sprint. It was a winner of the VSCC prestigious Silver Conrod trophy which adds to the cars accolades. The car has just been fitted with a new block which was machined by Holcombe Engineering, who have in fact now machined 20 of these blocks. The engine has a Nickle chrome crank, full floating billet machined conrods, arias competition pistons and its running 4.2/1 back axle. This true, iconic, British sports car comes with the following spares: Nickle chrome crank, original Claudel Hobson carburettors, used block bored out to 3.3 litres with arias competition pistons, performance cams machined to the Phoenix Park car specification and three spare differentials.
