IverThis Lot will be sold at auction at Symphony of Spring; Ascot Racecourse on Saturday 7th March. The Fiat 500 was produced by the Italian car makers between 1957 and 1975 with limited production of the Fiat 500K estate continuing until 1977. It was designed by Dante Giacosa and, despite its diminutive size, the 500 proved to be an enormously practical and popular vehicle throughout Europe capturing the hearts and minds of the public. Launched as the Nuova (new) 500, it was marketed as a cheap and practical town car. Measuring only three metres long and originally powered by a tiny 479cc twocylinder, aircooled engine, the 500 redefined the term 'small car' and is considered one of the first city cars. This Fiat was purchased by the present owner in 2009 and he then had it stripped back to bare metal and it was resprayed by Mickey Pearce of New Years in Harefield. He then bought new seat covers and a sunroof. The interior was subsequently refurbished by Weenie Flats in Reading, Berkshire and since this was carried out, the vendor has used it sparingly for short trips in the summer months, as its not used during the Winter. Its engine was replaced about ten years ago with a 650cc and sadly all paperwork was destroyed in a flood about four years ago. Presented in white with red interior and sitting on four new tyres, this is a great little runaround with a touch of Italian class. Consigned by James Good
