Iver0 Previous Owners, This Lot will be sold at auction at Symphony of Spring; Ascot Racecourse on Saturday 7th March. Just one registered keeper from new. Collector quality example. First offered in 2000, the aluminiumbodied Honda Insight boasts a one litre, threecylinder, 67bhp petrol engine in addition to a 13bhp electric motor. The cars aerodynamic shape and low kerb weight deliver a top speed of well over 100mph all the while delivering 6070mpg in everyday use. With either a CVT or a fivespeed manual gearbox, it rides on skinny tyres for reduced rolling resistance and the engine acts as a generator to recharge the battery under regenerative braking. The interior is more conventional but still offers standard fare such as airconditioning and electric windows in addition to a wonderfully futuristic digital dashboard display comprising green and amber LEDs as you strive for optimum efficiency! The aluminium bodyshell means that you dont have to worry about rust either and the battery pack has proven to be hugely reliable. Plus, the icing on the cake is that UK cars are zerorated for road tax and are also ULEZ compliant, making the Insight a very costeffective way of running a modern classic, especially if you live in a major city. This example was originally supplied on September 1st 2000, and has had just one registered keeper from new. These cars were so well suited to daily commuting and long journeys, that almost all of them seem to have covered 100,000 miles by now, but quite amazingly this example still sits below 15,000 miles and the condition speaks for itself. Popularity of these quirky cars has really begun to rise in recent years, and this particular example is perfectly suited for the collectors out there who value single ownership and exceedingly low mileage. The history file shows servicing with Honda during the cars early years, then a few services at independent garages following that, all of the owners manuals are present, as is the V5 registration document showing zero former keepers. Supplied to auction with an MoT test certificate valid until August 2026, we feel this Insight represents excellent value, there cant be many examples left like this. Consigned by Fraser Smith
