A rare chance to own an iconic French classic that's ready to use this summer. Imported to the UK in 2013, this is a well known car on the British classic car scene having been exhibited extensively since its arrival on these shores. It comes complete with an enormous history file, documenting all of the work and parts it has received in its UK ownership, as well as many invoices and documents from its time in France too. It also comes with a number of collectible Peugeot items such as brochures, sales literature and service leaflets, a nice touch if you plan on exhibiting the car yourself. In terms of condition the car is in great useable shape. It reportedly received restoration work while it was still living in the South of France and as a result is still in rock solid condition today with little to no rot or rust visible on the car. The paintwork isn't the best, but does still present well from a distance and could easily be improve should you wish to do so. The interior is in fine shape, with very little wear to the upholstery and still looks fantastically stylish even today, a real snapshot of the period.Mechanically the car is in great shape. It has benefitted from some light recommissioning in recent years and as a result runs and drives really well. The column shift selects well, and the car pulls nicely, keeping up with modern traffic with ease. Despite its scarcity in the UK, the 403 was one of the best selling cars of the 1950's and 60's and there are still many companies that supply and specialise in parts for these fantastic cars, particularly on the continent. This makes it a far easier car to maintain and service than many more common classics, and any prospective owner shouldn't have any issues in keeping this lovely car in the great condition it's in here.
